SOURCE: FUEL FILTER

Passenger side of vehicle. Look under vehicle around the rear door area. Inline filter.
Buy the Haynes or Chiltons. Well worth it for the vehicle. Also hondaautomotiveparts(dot)com can get you decent prices on some items. Isuzu Rodeo and Honda Passport are the same car (made by Isuzu). It atleast has a good breakdown of parts with pictures.

SOURCE: Where is the fuel filter in my 1992 Isuzu Rodeo?

Look on passenger side frame rail ahead of the rear wheel in a bracket with a fuel line on each end. Before starting replacement-- be sure to release pressure from fuel lines, by removing fuel pump fuse under hood and running engine to use gas from lines. I then remove fuel lines by moving clamps away from fitting so hose can be pulled loose from old filter while it is still in bracket. On top of mounting is a bolt that holds filter clamp in place . After removing clamp and filter from mounting bracket, loosen filter body clamp and slip oout old filter-- then in with the new filter. Then reverse your steps to install filter. After filter is back in place -- reinstall fuel pump fuse, turn on key for a few seconds for gas to refill lines, then start engine and check your installation to make sure you have no fuel leaks at line connections.

SOURCE: after changing the fuel filter on a 3.5 petrol

No, the pump pushes fuel through the filter, so no need for prime.

Have a 1988 F-150 with a 5.0 liter engine it has been giving some running and then dying static the other day it died for good replaced fuel pump on frame rail and put on a new filter still wont run,...

There may be a fuelpump relay in one of the underhood fuseboxes. You can try some searches for 1988 F150 fusebox diagrams to find the location of the relay. The reset of the inertia sensor (safety switch) was a good try but if the fuel pump relay is bad, there will be nothing to reset because there will be no power. There can also be a crankshaft sensor which needs to generate a signal to tell the fuelpump to run.

2001 Rodeo 2.8 Turbo Diesel running perfectly one day won't run the next. Seems to be after it sits for a couple of days. Any suggestions?

Hi Peter, If the vehicle turns on the starter all the time, and sometimes starts and other times fails, check the fuel filter for leakage. Sometimes air gets into the fuel system. When it gives problems, open the bonnet (hood) and have someone pump the pump on top of the filter housing. If it feels soft when beginning to pump, I would suspect either a leakage on the fuel line or the filter housing. If you need to replace the housing and filter, remember to fill the replacement filter with clean diesel fuel first. the glow plugs can also cause problems if one or more have burned out. I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500 with a 4800 vortec engine. it starts and idels fine but when ever i give it gas, the engine starts to sputter and dies. ive already changed the fuel filter and spark plug...

This sounds llike weak feul pressure, the fuelpump may need replacing, the first thing to do is have the fuel pressure tested and if the pressure is low then have the pump replaced. the pump is located inside the fuel tank and the tank will need to be dropped to replace the pump, good luck ,

Fuelpump secondary circuit high. First try changing fuel filter, it is probably plugged which is over working your fuelpump. If filter was or is changed & problem persists will most likely need to change fuelpump.

-turns over but won't start -changed fuel filter

Check your battery as it supplies juice for the coil. Then check your coil or coilpak and the crankshaft sensor. The bad spark may be an underlying reason for how the truck has been running.

Do you know if the fuelpump is working? The Inertia sensor may have tripped while you changed regulators. You may need to reset the button on it to connect the fuelpump.
