SOURCE: FUEL FILTER

Most modern day fuel injected cars have the pump located inside the gas tank. It's the safest place to put it, it can't ignite any fumes because it's submerged in the liquid.

How much fuel pressure does a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer required to stay at idle or to even crank

to crank it needs your starter nothing else. if fuel pump works it should idle or puff at worst. check your air filter, fuel filter and most likely you need a throttle body.

If i were you i would follow air filter hose to the engine then take it off pour a few ounces of Gasoline into engine then try to start this should take air out of the line and the vehicle should resume running again. Good Luck !!!!!!!!

Have 2002 mits lancer, changed fuel pump only getting about 10 psi at fuel rail, cant find filter, could pump I bought from Napa be bad or is there a filter in tank unit

Many fuel problems are cause by a fuel pressure regulator. it is recommended that you change the regulator with the pump. It is also recommended that you use the original Mitsubishi pump(should be about the same price) so that the pump pressure is also correct. The fuel filter is at the intake of the fuel pump so only filtered gas enters the pump.
