SOURCE: wont start has fuel and has spark

RC ralston
Your problem is a leak in the cpi pletium most likely the pressure line has a leak
had same problem with mine $45.00 PRESSURE LINE KIT AND $15.00 GASKET FOR PLETIUM and 2 hours labor problem sovled.
You can remove vortec cover and remove air regulator to look inside pletium. I had gas vapor on driver side . that is where fuel lines are. fuel regulator is on passenger side. turn key on and look in hole and see where fuel is spraying. taking pletium off you can again turn key on and make sure where fuel is coming from.

SOURCE: 1997 dodge dakota v6 engine wont start replaced

turn the key to the on position a see if you can here a buzzing sound around the fuel tank,if you don't hear a sound then. (be very careful while doing this) with the key off take a fuel line coming from the tank loose, make sure its pointed away from you and turn the key to the on position, see if any gas comes out,if not then your fuel pump is probably bad.

High consumption of fuel

If you have serviced the engine, changed oil and oil filter and air filter and spark plugs and cleaned the carburettor or cleaned your throttle body and injectors, and its still heavy on fuel then try the following. Adjust the carburettor air and fuel. Take off the distributor cap and clean the rotor and spark pionts in the cap of carbon build up by means of light sand paper. Same applies to the spark/ high tension leads and coil lead metal connection points. Check distributor timing as well. If the engine smokes, do a compression test. If results are beneath factory specifications, remove cylinder head, replace the valve stem seals and re-seat the valves and or replace the pistons and piston rings. Basically engine overhall

I have just hit 99k miles. What type of service do I need to have done on truck? Change spark plugs? I don't have the owners manual...

Well, not knowing what has been done previously, here's a list of some things that need to be done.

Manual says.....
Spark plugs, AC Delco 41-103's
Radiator flush

But these things should be done also, if not done already....
Clean your throttle body, this should be done more often than, maybe once a year...
Transmission filter with new fluid...or you can do a flush..use the new Dexron 6 product that GM has out now, good stuff.
Change your fuel filter and air filter
May look at changing your upstream 02 sensor
Differential fluids
Transfer case fluid, if it's 4x4
Inspect all vaccum lines

What does a major tune up for a 2004 chevy impala consist of? What should be done and needs to be done?

New spark plugs, oil and oil filter, transmission flush and fill, fuel filter, air filter, coolant flush and fill, clean throttle body plate and bore, clean the MAF sensor, replace any loose or cracked vacuum lines, PCV valve, new air filter, new battery.

99% of the time all you should ever need for a tune up is new spark plugs, and a clean air filter and throttle body. But since your inquiry indicated "major" I gave it more critical thought.

We changed the oil and oil filter, changed the air filter, changed the fuel filter, changed the spark plugs, and put injection cleaner in our 1994 Ford Explorer Limited and we are getting horrible fuel...

Clean the throttle plate-CRC Throttle Body Cleaner
Clean the MAF Sensor--CRC MAF Cleaner

Have the O2 Sensors tested

If it is 10 years old, the exhaust
converter may be plugged,that's
not good and shouldn't happen

Check for vacuum leaks
A leak causes the O2 Sensors to add fuel,
to account for extra air

Make sure the air filter box and ALL
Ducting to throttle is air tight

Has anyone tried adjusting the fuel air mixture?

Based on what I am reading this is a gas engine and I am also assuming it is fuel injected. (Or does it have throttle body fuel injection?)

I suspect a case of dirty fuel injectors at the moment. They will need to be removed and cleaned.

If you have throttle body fuel injection then you will need the fuel air mixture adjusted.

If you respond can you let us know the "engine size" that is installed please. It would help us to help you in troubleshooting.

Thanks for using Fixya. Kelly.

When i press accelerator engine is cutting ....

The van may just need a good tune up.

  • Replace the fuel filter
  • Replace the air filter
  • Replace the PVC valve
  • Replace Engine oil and filter
  • Replace the Spark plugs
  • Clean out the Throttle body with throttle body cleaner
  • Clean out the MAF sensor
This should help you get your van running 100% soon. If your on a tight budget, start with Cleaning the throttle body with spraying throttle body cleaner into the throttle body and cleaning up the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner, just follow the instruction on the can. Then replace the PVC valve and add fuel injector cleaner in to the gas tank. This should help your engine running better and then you can do the rest of the work to complete the tune up. Good luck and keep me posted. If you go to Auto Zone, you can get all the things you need and they can scan your van for any DTC codes that may also indicate what issues your engine has.

1996 Mitsubishi Montero has no power..

My 96 Pajero SWB 3.0 would loose power as soon as i accelerate. It feels like the spark plugs are miss firing or if the engine was flooded.

I did a general service which included oil change, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs i checked my O2 sensor, dissembled and cleaned throttle body and sensors. Cleaned air intake sensor as well as the distributer etc.

Problem not solved, still loose power when i accelerate....can it be something wrong with my ECU??

My A/C control isnt working at all. Found a 15Amp fuse that was blown but when replaced it shorts again. Where can i get a wiring diagram of the heater/a/c system for my vehicle model?
