First of all you need to check the engine code being "spit out". If you don't have a OBDII reader, go to your local garage and have it read.... typically pretty cheap. DDE light can be caused by:
Contaminated fuel.
Wrong Fuel.
Injectors leaking back excessive fuel to tank.
In-line fuel pump (There are two, so it's possible to still get fuel at engine but not enough pressure to run it)
DDE Engine module relay failed
Fuel rail pressure sensor
There are many more possible faults but I have listed the more common ones.
You really need to know the fault code to determine the actual source....
