First of all you need to check the engine code being "spit out". If you don't have a OBDII reader, go to your local garage and have it read.... typically pretty cheap. DDE light can be caused by:
Contaminated fuel.
Wrong Fuel.
Injectors leaking back excessive fuel to tank.
In-line fuel pump (There are two, so it's possible to still get fuel at engine but not enough pressure to run it)
DDE Engine module relay failed
Fuel rail pressure sensor
There are many more possible faults but I have listed the more common ones.
You really need to know the fault code to determine the actual source....
I'm driving a 2001 e46 330d sport WHAT AS BEEN REMAPED it had a fly wheel less than 100 mile since and new donut on prop and an engine mount ive just come home down the motorway and put my foot down and when i came off the motor way the car would not pull propley and was very slow even if i geared down it will not rev still and was makin a screamin noise so i pulled up and reved the engine it dose not rev as fast as useual and it smokes and makes the same screaming noise yet there is no light on the dash can any one help me please [email protected]
So the only thing now is the light staying on ??
Disconect the possative cable on th battery..
That should re-set everything..
