2001 Pontiac Firebird has turn signal problem

I bought a used 2001 Pontiac Firebird recently. The turn signals does not work, the emergency flashers works though.
I also noticed that the high beams does not work either. When turning this on, all the head lights go off. I am guessing that the low beam turns off when the high beam is supposedly on.
Could this be related?
Thanks,
Dallas

The turns, hazards, high/ low headlamps, possibly cruise cont. and wipers, are all operated by the "multifunction switch". Replace it and you should be good to go. I hope this helps.

I have a 2002 Pontiac Firebird. Hazard lights work. Turn signals were working without clicking sound, now not working. A local parts shop said the problem is the turn signal flasher unit. Where do I locate...

There are two seperate flashers, one for the hazards, and one for the turn signals. They are located behind the lower instrument panel below the steering wheel. Turn flasher should be the one on the right. These are also notorious for the front light sockets to corode or burn out. check their condition and be sure to use connector lube when replacing bulbs there.

Sounds like the flasher unit to me. Normally the emergency flasher and turn signal are separate.

No signal (turn) do have 4ways fuses seem okay where is the relays?

Sounds like flasher relay. Most cars have located under dash so the sound is audible. Check under dash fuse box. Turn on emergency flashers and listen for sound. Sometimes emergency and turn relays are located together.

You have two separate flasher devices on your car. One operates the flashers, and the other, usually located near the fuse area, operates the turn signals. A trip to your local Autozone or Advance Auto Parts, or for that matter most reputable parts house will give the exact location of turnsignal flasher, and they can supply a new one.
