1997-1998 E36 Fuse Positions:
There are four fuses (#32, #33, #37, and #44) located in the plastic front power distribution box located in the left-hand rear corner (nearest the driver) of the engine compartment that cover the cigar lighter. The numbers are marked look under box cover.

usually it is with interior light/gauge lights. or it will say on the cover "cig lgtr"

Look at the fuse layout for one that looks like + ---> -; that's the one for the cigarette lighter. On my 535 it's fuse # 87, a 20 amp fuse.

the fuse is probably blown, check the fuse box you will see if the fuse is blown the little wire inside will have a break in it

Cigarette lighter and electric plug do not work in 2007 Caliber after use of Magellan GPS - put in a new fuse - still doesn't work. Would anyone have a suggestion as to how to repair this problem? Thank you

First, check the fuse box your fuse is out of order
or second try your cigarette lighter in different car may be the cigarette lighter is broken

If can't find fuse box, easy way to check your cigarette lighter is try any mobile phone chargeri, is there any electricity???
If it is not change the fuse
If there is elec. change the lighter

check the cigarette lighter fuse in the glovebox.. the should be a card with the fuse names on it but it should be linked in with the cigarette lighter fuse
