Hi the car has central locking from the key but was not manufactired with remote keyless central locking. When you turn the key in the drivers side door it will not unlock. I have to use the key to unlock the passenger door and then that unlocks all doors at once- as it should. I am wondering which part I will have to replace in the drivers side to get it working as it should. Any help would be much appreciated.

Either the wring going to that motor or the motor itself is bad.

It is not that hard to fix. Actuater is sold as part of the assembly. You can't just replace it by itself. Order the part online for a lot less than dealer. I learned that when the passenger side did the same thing a couple months later and I saved $150 on line. Remove the inside door panel. Remove lock assembly from door. Remove door handle.

the actuator might have been disconnected from the lock, its attached inside the door, with a metal rod that clips into the actuator, check it out, might be a easy fix, good luck and god bless, please rate me!

If your car has an alarm with a separate remote, it is a separate system and it is probably self-arming. When you lock the doors with the key central lock, the alarm gets armed by the RAV4 being OFF and the door locking action. When you unlock the doors with the key, the alarm is still armed because the key is not comunicating with the alarm just the cars factory keyless system.
