you will have to raise the rear of the car then undo the fuel lines, electrical wires, vent line and the gas tank straps supporting the tank you will have to support the tank before undoing the straps, then lower the tank until you can remove the fuel tank lock ring and remove the fuel pump assembly, note that some had and extra fuel line connected to the pump assembly inside the tank and you will have to pull the pump assembly so far until you can disconnect this line. assembly in reverse order. also replace the fuel filter if its been a while.

1990 ford f150 fuel pumps location

Dependant on your model specifics, either two or one tank assembly, the tanks themselves will have a sending unit inside. You can replace just the pumps for less but you MUST exercise care when removing reinstalling and cleaning. The orig sending unit can be brittle. The plastic parts to specify. If just trying to get a truck running, start with the rear tank, and if you cannot save the tank straps you can ratchet strap the tank to the frame to make it mobile. DONT DROP THE TANK OR LET IT HANG. While under the truck lean the back side of the tank off first and it will give access to the connections you need to remove to drop the tank

Replace fuel pump/locate

Unfortunately the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank...I have found the best way to remove the pump is to take the entire bed of the truck off..the reason is the straps that hold the fuel tank up have bolts that hold the strap to the frame rail..in my experience..these bolts will snap off , leaving you more work to drill them out an so on..if you do decide to remove the bed there are 8 bolts holding it to the frame...once the bolts are removed ,you want to make sure you unplug the harness for the rear lights and also disconnect the fuel inlet assembly, then you can slide it back just far enough to gain access to the top of the fuel tank..The fuel pump assembly(also called fuel delivery module) will have a large "C" type clip holding it in.Using a screwdriver, you'll need to pop it out from around the diameter of the fuel pump. Then you may need to turn the whole pump a little to remove it...being careful of the float arm that is attached to it. Also, there are tools needed to remove the fuel lines, which should be available for rental from autozone. Be sure to replace the fuel filter as not doing this may void the warranty for the new pump. You will need the special tools for this too.

Can i get to fuel pump on 1999 Acura TL from back

Below are the proper steps to removing your vehicle's fuel tank..

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Relieve the fuel pressure
Remove the rear seat cushion.
Remove the plastic grommet from the floor pan.
Detach the fuel pump electrical harness.
Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel pump by compressing the tabs on both sides of each nylon push connect fitting and easing the fuel line off of the fuel pump.
Raise and safely support the vehicle securely on jackstands.
Remove the muffler mount.
Remove the heat shields.
Remove the fuel tank cover.
Remove the drain plug and drain the gasoline into a approved container.
Disconnect the fuel lines and remove the fuel filter and base.
Loosen the fuel tank filler pipe clamp at the fuel tank.
Support the fuel tank using a hydraulic jack and a block of wood or other suitable device.
Remove the two fuel tank support strap bolts and position the straps out of the way.
Partially lower the fuel tank to access the fuel tank filler pipe vent tube and disconnect the vent tube and filler pipe from the tank.
Disconnect the fuel vapor tube from the tank.
Lower the tank from the vehicle.
Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Where is the fuel pump reset button in a 1993 Chevrolet Caprice?

The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank, to replace it u must remove the gas tank from the car, there is no other access, the tank is held in 2 steel straps, u will need the car as high off the ground as poss, use a good floor jack to raise the car, then support the car on jack stands, put the jack under the tank and remove the steel straps thgat hold the fuel tank in, drop the tank down far enough so u can remove the fuel lines and the electrical connectors to tank components, remove the filler neck screws and drop tank out, undo the retainer ring that holds the fuel pump module in place in side the tank and remove the fuel pump, be very careful not to create any sparks, these can catch fire very easy, do the job in an area with really good ventilation, best if done outside.

Fuel pump 98 s10

Hi:
You must first drain and lower the fuel tank, as your pump is mounted inside. With the fuel tank supported, undo the tank mounting straps, and the filler hose, then slowly lower it until you can disconnect the fuel lines and electrical harness. The pump assembly is now accessable. Remove and replace the assembly , then reinstall the tank .
