squirting engine oil in each spark plug hole will temporarily increase compression.

Compression is too low, it sounds like there is a head gasket failure. The compression should be above 100 psi as a minimum. Normally should be in the 120-170psi range.

92 camry 4 cylinder was running great, it got hot then shut down

If car went hot it could damage head gaskete and engine block causing it to crack. That result the compression. Loose the compression to be lost. Lost of compression will result engine to no start.

95 camry won`t start

Have the head gasket torqued to 60psi each bolt? if so, either the spark plug grooves got a crack, or the head is bent due to a past overheat... or overheats. If so, send the head to a machine shop and have it leveled out, and replace all gaskets replaced when putting back on. That includes, manifold, header, and head gaskets, as well as the oil seals and O-rings. Hope this will help you.
