This is caused by the front brake rotors being warped from heat, they have excessive side to side run out.

The information below was complied by me, it explains what causes the check engine light to come on and the process of finding the cause.

When the Check Engine light (or Service Engine Soon or small picture of an engine) is turned on, the systems computer control unit (called the PCM) has sensed a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system. When this happens you will seldom feel the car engine run any different. There are about 200 possible system faults (the gas cap is just one of them) that turn the Check Engine light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test, Kragen/Oriley and Autozone parts stores (USA only) do this testing for free.

Engine wiring harness problems are common for this problem.

These are hydraulic valves, there is no clearnace adjustment.

I suggest you clean the upper intake using the instructions below.To correct this problem Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, NEVER USE CARB CLEANING SPRAY, IT DESTROYS THE ANTI-STICK TEFLON COATING, spray it into the air intake through the throttle body of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speed control problems you may need to seek the help of a professional.

I have seen this problem and it is very often a problem with the engine wiring harness, where that may lie is anyones guess, look at places where the harness moves around allot.

This is a problem caused by a defective fuel pressure check valve at the outlet of the electric fuel pump inside the gas tank. When this valve fails it allows gas to drain back to the tank from the filter and fuel lines, this creates a lean fuel condition and that can cause hard starting. There are reasons but this is the most common one.

The battery gauge drops because the engine RPM's drop, this reduces the output of the Alternator. The cause of this is likley a dirty intake valve and idle speed control vlave, clean them by following the instructions below.
