Where is the fuel pump reset switch on my 98 dodge

There is likely a fuse and a relay. The relay is usually under the hood in a black plastic box along with other relays. The fuse is usually near by. Look under the lid of the box as the components are labeled there. Use a test lamp that says computer safe to check the power at the fuse when an assistant turns the key on. The light should come on for a few seconds and then turn off. You may have a failed fuel pump that is causing the fuse to blow. IF replacement of the fuel pump is nessecary, the cargo box will have to be removed (easier than removing fuel tank). ONLY replace with a complete fuel pump module as pump only replacements have a high failure rate. I know, I had to replace twice before getting the complete unit.

98 dodge ram 1500 Truck ran out of gas. It will

Since the fuel pump is in the gas tank, your pump picked up debris, and dirt on the bottom of the tank and ran it into your fuel filter.
Replace fuel filter, and check fuel pump fuse.
Running your vehicle with less than a 1/4 tank of gas is hard on the pump, because the fuel pump uses gas to cool it.
Please let me know what you find.

98 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT uses almost two quarts of

If u change the oil every 3,000 miles, 2 quarts of oil used is nothing to worry about, Dodge doesn't consider that there is any problem until the oil consumption reaches 1 quart per 750 miles, *(myself I begin to be worried at 1 quart per 1,000 miles with mixed driving), that comes from a factory service letter, I will add that oil usage is variable, that is to say that hot weather and high speed driving increase oil consumption rates, also u can use 10W30W (no heavier) in this engine that will slow the oil usage with no ill affects to the engine. My experience? 35 years as a dealer technician, owner of two Dodges.

Between 40 and 60 mpg my truck starts a spuddering

Best thing to do is hook up a OBD II (on board diag) scan tool and get the error codes stored in your Dodge Ram computer. Then look at the back of a Haynes repair manual and match the code with the list of codes this repair book provides. This will save you time and money. You can use this scan tool for free at your local auto parts store. I would say that your fuel pump is going out but before you go and change the fuel pump, find out the code.

Truch is cranking but not turning over to start.

You mean the truck is cranking over but not starting? There are 3 things that prevent your truck from starting. Fuel??? Spark???? Air?? One more thing would be an anti-theft device that you forgot about. Check the 3 things above and find out which one is missing. If you have all 3 and no anti theft device, your problem lies deep in the computer controlled stuff.

How to change fuel pump on dodge ram 1500 1998

You have to drop the gas tank just 2 bolts holding the bands. The fuel pump and gas gauge are a single unit which pops right in. Not a bad job at all, just be sure to use some kind of jack on the tank.
NAPA sells the pump/guage unit for about $240.00
