How to replace main bearings on 2.2 chevy

You can't. To replace the main bearings you need to remove the crankshaft. To remove the crankshaft you must remove the flywheel. To remove the flywheel, you must remove the transmission. The transmission is part of the engine mounting system. Just buck up and pull the whole works. Chances are you will need to re-bore the mains anyway if you have spun any of the main bearings. That cannot be done with the engine in the car.

What will make car whine when accelerating with a 2000 cavalier

If its in your engine it may be your belt tensioner and since you are not real specific if its coming from engine compartment thes cars were notorious for having bad wheel bearings which will whine louder the faster you go.

Why does trac off light keep coming on?

Probably a frayed ground wire, shared with other idiot lights (both check engine lights, brake system fault light, low oil level/pressure light) and the fuel pump. It is a multi-stranded wire that passes over the top of the transmission on the way back to the fuel pump mounted on the rear, center, of the fuel tank.. As the strands break due to flexing, various idiot lights intermittantly come on, until enough strands break to make them stay on, then finally stopping the fuel pump from pumping. Repair the frayed ground wire (most likely as it passes over the transmission), and everything goes back to normal.

Car heater blowing cold air and rubber burnning

If your heater is spraying a light mist through your vents it could be your heater coil. Mine did the same thing, smell rubber burning, then started a light mist through the vents. If you don't get that checked out, it could mess up your water pump and possibly your engine

What would cause a 2001 chevy cavalier has to be started touching wires on the starter?

There are 2 wires to thr Starter. A thick cable which comes directly from the attery and a thin cable which comes from the ignition switch. it would appear from your description that one of these is either loose, dirty or has a bad solder joint. Establish which wire you are touching that makes it work, then you might have to replace the terminal on the end.

On highway heard clank noise oil and engine light came on I lost power and now won't start

Sounds like your timing belt broke. Could be a very costly repair. Mine cost me over $1400 for a new engine basically. I'm no mechanic though, good luck.

Free windows xp master disc download

A free copy of windows XP will do you no good as it would be registered with Microsoft and they will not allow it to operate on any other computer. At best you could only use in not connected to the net. Anyway XP is no longer supported by Microsoft so getting up grades will be near impossible.. You will have a better chance of getting a cheap version of windows 7 where you will get a registration code with it.
