The coolant temperature sensor controls the fan turning off and on.

You can try replacing the engine coolant temp sensor, it may be off a bit.
Ask your Chevy dealer service writer if there is a service bulletin for a reflash of the engine computer which controls when the fan comes on based on info from the temp sensor.

Take a tape measure and measure it, theres no other way.

Check voltage at the battery wiyh car running, If you have anything less that 13 V , suspect the alternator, Shoud be between 13.5 and 14.5

check your battery terminals, cables and make sure there is good contacts and no corrosion at any place on the battery cables

when purchasing a new battery go by the model and year you will need it for and the battery side terminals will be on the correct sides. If not someone changed the length of the cables aroud to use the incorrect battery in this vehicle

heater core is leaking under dash....they are a big job to replace...it is like a small radiator under your dash that antifreeze and water go through to give you heat inside car...leave it to a experianced mechanic....good luck...Lee

You need to check to see if the injectors have pulse w/a noid light.

It will be the double element bulbs.

Tune up should include.Plugs,distributor cap,rotor,air filter,fuel filter,if plug wires have never been replaced then replace plug wires,pcv valve.Use good name brand parts.Don`t get cheap stuff.Make sure and gap the plugs.The specs.decal should be under the hood or on the hood itself.The plug gap is .045.Also use die electric grease on plug wires.It is usually supplied with wires.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Check for any broken vacuum lines under the hood. Listen for any hissing sounds . If that does not help, try checking the heater core resistor under the dash board. It is connected to a 2 to 4 wire plug near the heater core. This causes speed fan problems among others.You may have to replace the resistor. It is not too easy to remove and install. You will have very little space .
