I think you should install a software program that has the capability of opening mov file. This would become a plug-in for other programs and enable them to interpret it as mov file. or click on your movie file from camera and change its properties to be opened by a certain software that can open mov file and use it as the default program to open that file.

Hey! There are a lot of such conversion tools. I am now using this Wondershare DVD Converter Ultimate, which helps me convert various video format to any video/audio format I need(indcluding the format you have mentioned). for example, if you capture a video with your camera, it automatically creates 2 files: a thumbnail = a picture, and the movie. You're probably trying to view the thumbnail. Check the extensions of the files for those with .mp4 or .mov, those are the movies. These can be played with Quicktime or other players.

Why not install the appropriate driver for your OS ? Failing that, put the media card into a stand alone USB card reader attached to your computer, and download the images thus.

Sounds as if the camera has been left unused, and the batteries have leaked. Repair or replace, I'm afraid, whichever is cheaper.

Please try to remove the battery and let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. This should reset the system and can resolve the problem.
