That message appears when there is a short on one of the amplifier outputs. The loud pop most likely is a discharge on the power capacitors caused by the failure of the insulation. It appears only during startup because then there is an extremely high current flowing thru the capacitor (it must be fully charged from empty in an extremely short period of time) and that causes power spikes that can overcome the insulation provided by the worn out piece. At each attempt the capacitor charges a little more until the current flowing thru it (and the voltage it generates) goes down to a tolerable value and the discharge no longer occurs so the unit can work.
The unit must be opened and the capacitors and their insulation replaced - not a very complicated job but it requires the minimum of electronics repair experience. I think that you should take it to a repair shop.

Had similar problem. Paraphrasing the warranty info sheet (with concurrance of my Geek Squad friends), our HT800s have sacrificed themselves to protect our components. They tell me it is possible for only one circuit in a home to have an electrical surge. That is why the TV in one room may "blow" and the adjoining room TV not. Bottom line: Time to buy a new surge protector.

Probably the battery of UPS. you can contact the manufacturer for the replacement of battery. Also please check the manual if you can replace it yourself.
It could be the power built in power supply, but I would check the battery first.
