A slow computer could becaused by a number of things - 1. InsufficientRAM memory - if your computer has less than 512Mb of RAM then increase it to atleast 1Gb of RAM. 2. Registryproblems - clean and repair the registry, it will contain unused registry keys.Use programs such as Registry Mechanic, Microsoft RegClean etc. 3. Uninstall/removeunused programs, this will also free up hard disk space. 4. Notenough hard disk space - swap file space may need to be increased if Windowshasn't been configured to manage it. 5. Installlatest Windows updates. 6. Updatevirus definition files and scan computer for viruses, Trojans, malware etc. 7. Clearthe Internet cache for faster browsing. 8. Harddisk maintenance is required at least once a month to keep it functioningefficiently. Runthe following programs - Disk Cleanup -removes temporary files that are no longer used and to recovers hard disk space. DiskDefragmenter to make fragmented files into contiguous files and thereforethe hard disk access is faster.

..................My system config is : Intel C2D E7500 with 2.93 GHz CPU MOBO is Intel DG41RQ and 2gb DDR2 RAM OS is Windows XP - 32-bit (Service pack 3) .Problem is iwant to buy a new graphics card

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are clogged with dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed air to do this.

How to make geforce6100pm-m2 read both memory slots

make sure your memory meets these guide lines.
? 2 x 240-pin DDR2 DIMM socket support up to 16 GB*
? * (Due to the DRAM maximum size is 2GB at present, the memory maximum size we have tested is 4GB)
? Dual-channel DDR2 memory architecture
? Support DDR2 800/667/533/400 DDR2 SDRAM
Due to the operating system limitation, the actual memory size may be less than 4GB for the reservation for system usage under Windows?32-bit OS.
For Windows?64-bit OS with 64-bit CPU, there is no such limitation
which means win xp will only read 2gig and win vist/7 will read 4g so if you have 2x 2gig and only 1 is registering its working fine with win xp.

Vist slow

Try increasing your RAM to 2GB ... 1GB is barely enough to run the OS, let alone an app or two.

SONYVAIO-PC

You dont need any driver since your PC is configured as x64 bit processor so all you got to do is get hold of the XP OS which is meant for x64 compatible PC's. The one normally used is 32 bit named as x86. I hope u wont face any difficulty in getting hold of x64 based OS(XP)......sodeep

Do i have to face any heating problems with the mentioned config?

If you are NOT going to overclock the CPU and memory, it should work easy.

New C2D processors are quite cool.

Also you shoult pay attention to a good Power supply, and maybe enough big case with place for front and rear extra fans,
If you face heating problems later, you may put those two fans.

Regards.
