You can request the software by going to http://www.vivitar.com and clicking on the "Vivitar Experience Software" link.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Why vivitar 5118 memory full message no photos or videos detected

It is likely that your card has failed. Take it out of the camera, put it in a reader and plug that into your computer. See if you can view there and remove the pictures to your computer hard disk. If you can not see them there but the computer recognizes the card you will need to use recover software to get your pictures back. Once you have everything throw away the card and get a new one. Unfortunately cards to eventually fail. :(

My vivitar camera 5118 wont charge

It's because the 5118 is a camera, not a battery charger. It uses disposable alkalines or rechargeable NiMHs, but if you choose to use rechargeables then you much charge them outside the camera using a separate battery charger.

Forgot my pass word and I'am unable to log on to my computer (am1640-u1401a

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

I need software for my laptop for a vivicam 5118

You don't need any software.

How long does it take for a vivitar Vivicam 5118 to charge fully?

Since the ViviCam 5118 isn't a battery charger, it will take a very, very long time.
The 5118 uses standard AA batteries. If you want to use rechargeable batteries then you much charge them outside the camera using a separate battery charger. Connecting it to a computer through the USB port will drain the batteries even faster, since the camera has to expend power communicating with the camera (even if only to say it has nothing to say).

SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

How do I turn on the sound for my vivitar vivicam 5118. Can't capture audio while recording video.

The 5118 is designed primarily as a still camera, with some video capabilities grafted on. It records images, not sound. You can add a soundtrack using video editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.
