Are you using a cable box? If so, what kind of connection do you have going from the cable box to the TV? Try testing another set of cables, or another type of cable for the input.
If this is a newer Projection screen [one of last ones] you are correct when you say liquidated price. As the new flat screens have made the projection TV a dinosaur. Depending on the year and condition..maybe 300 to500 bucks is a fair price at best!
Hi, 4 times flash of standby light shows that TV has problem in Vertical Deflection area and possible causes are IC1509(V out) is broken and / or Q1505(V Pulse Buffer) is broken. Please check / test above said IF you have experience of TV repair.
