Hope someone can lead me in the right direction. I have been using a Galaxy 959 for several months now as a base unit. It was tweaked and peaked and was doing about 30 to 35 watts on SSB and about 20 watts a.m. . Now all of a sudden the radio will only do about 10 or 12 watts SSB and 4 watts a.m. I have several radios inline all are working fine . Match on Imax is 1.1 so it is not an inline problem . The radio still talks fine got great reports on modulation.Still making DX contacts QRP. Just the power has dropped off. Thinking maybe finals are going south . Uses IRF 520 finals . Any help or sugestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Joe

This Galaxy was built as a CB to run on AM (11 Meter). The majority of people on the CB run AM stations. Sideband (upper and lower) is where the carrier is removed and the wave being transmitted on is cut in half. You can do this just fine but mainly if you want to talk to someone and you both know your going to be on Sideband for a little privacy. 38 LSB is a great channel to catch some DX side band on world wide. But yea, AM is the best to find people to chat with.

mike has wiring problems. Check for breaks in cord and where the plug goes into the unit. If not original mike then has incorrect wiring for the radio and will need to be changed for config
You will have to take this radio to a tune and peak shop for this upgrade. most audio store tech can do this upgrade or, just locate a truck stop near your location and im sure there is a radio guy on the premises that will assist in this upgrade as well. great radio by the way:)
