I have a whirlpool wed5200vq1 dryer and the clothes are no longer being dryed. The dryer is less than one year old. What would cause the problem and how do I fix it?

ck your vent hose,there may be a block vent not allowing air to move around clothes , causeing long drying times.if vent hose is ran long way.more then 4ft say 15 or longer,it should be cleaned once a year or replaced.this in my opinion is the most main problem when having dryer issues.

dryer is discontinued. parts no longer available. am drying clothes at friends houses...frustrating

The element gets brittle and breaks. The element is in the rear of the dryer under the dustcover.

look at the vent outside and see if it closing or even has a cover this allows cold air inside the dryer and cause it to take longer to dry

The first thing to check on would be your ventillation. Check at the outside of the house to make sure you have a strong amount of airflow coming out of the vent. Should blow pretty hard. If not you need to get your vents cleaned and also make sure the duct behind the dryer is not crushed. Hope this helps. Dave www.washermd.com
