Hotpoint Ultima wt940 I load washing and set a normal program (say 40 degree wash). The door is firmly closed. I push start. Even though the LCD is on and I have pushed start - there is no "click" which means the program is starting. After two minutes the washing machine "beeps" and "door" word starts flashing on the LCD. However the door is firmly closed. Any ideas what this is and how it may be resolved?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
'door' stands for Door Error. There is likely to be a problem with either the door solenoid/lock or the 'door closed' sensor requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(
If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Hotpoint wt940

the door is not locking , possibly caused by the interlock itself or motor brushes worn ( most likely if machine is a few years old at least ) could also be no power to lock via control board .

Daughter has ultima wt940 error f-01 comes up any ideas

This refers to motor error, check motor wire connections & brushes. If these are ok it is its a pcb fault which requires replacing & programming.

WF860 drum filling with water

Normally I would think that the problem is with the drain system (faulty pump or clogged lines), but you told me that also "When the washing machine is not bein.g used the drum slowly starts to fill with water!!" therefor I think it can be a dafective inlet valve or a faulty control assembly.
In either case, you will need a technician to fix this.
