I have lost my instruction book for my 4 cycle Ryobi motor. I can connect weedeater with string, with blade; and a branch cutter. I need to know what kind of oil I need to add. I would like to print out the instructions to my tool. I have had trouble since the beginning, getting it to start and then keeping the motor running. Usually I can get started enough times to run through one tank of gas. I thought it might be low on oil as the shaft with the blade now does not want to turn.

Many Ryobi manuals are available from their site: http://www.ryobitools.com/ . The manual for the RY34000, with the X340 Expand-it 4-Cycle Power Head, is here: http://www.ryobitools.com/catalog/4cycle/gas_powered/RY34000 . For this model, the unit comes with 20W50 oil. Continuing to use 20W50 engine lubricant is recommended. However, SAE 30, 10W30, or 10W40 are all acceptable lubricants to use in this product. The direct link to the manual is http://www.ryobitools.com/product_manual/file_url/523/RY34000_841_trilingual.pdf . Additional Expand-it attachment information is here: http://www.ryobitools.com/catalog/expand_it#/overview .

The manuals for the discontinued Expand-it products do not seem to have working links today. The appropriate page is http://www.ryobitools.com/discontinued_manuals/ .

I hope this helps.

I bought the Ryobi 15 in cordless weedeater today. I charged the battery. Now I can't figure out how to get the battery back off the weedeater to store it. Can you help? Instructions not helpful.

Do you mean the Ryobi 40V X-head cordless string trimmer? This model has a 12-15" cutting width. For the 40V battery, you remove it by pressing and holding the latch button at the bottom of the battery (on the side closest to you). Then pull the battery out of the power head, exactly reversing how you slid it into place. Do not release the latch button until the battery slide free of the tool. The latch is usually stiff and takes a lot of force to hold down. See Fig 4 for the position of the latch in the manual: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/fa/fab7f50b-d65b-40de-9e1c-5fecce2436f5.pdf . The same directions apply to removing the battery from the Ryobi 40V string trimmer with the fixed head.

For the 18V batteries, there are two latches, one on each side of the battery. Press and hold again. These are so stiff that my mother and I often need someone else take off the battery from any of the Ryobi tools. (We're both about 5' tall and 100 pounds. The tools aren't designed for our proportions.)

I hope this helps.

I purchased an 8 inch heavy-duty brushcutter blade for my Ryobi 30 cc four cycle powerhead how do I attach it to the string trimmer head

You can't use the blade on most string trimmers unless you have a brush cutter style then you would unscrew the trimmer string head and attach the blade with the adapter that came with the unit.

I need a manual for a Ryobi RHT500R Electric Hedge Trimmer 500 Watt - 55cm

I found the manual for the Ryobi hedge trimmer here: fr.ryobitools.eu/local/uploaded/catalog/e_RHT500R-600RL_UM_UK_v1.pdf . The bolts you describe hold the blade to the hedge trimmer's motor. They shouldn't have come loose. However you can check if any of the bolts are loose or have backed out of the motor.

I would suspect either a part of the branch is stuck between the blades. I have one of the small edge trimmer which gets noisy when I get a woody weed stuck in the unit. Unplug the trimmer and look at the blade for some bark stuck between the layers. On each side there are multiple blades that overlap at parts of the cutting cycle.

A parts diagram for the RHT500R is available here: http://www.magic-parts.co.uk/acatalog/Ryobi_RHT500R.php .

II hope this helps.

I guess he needs to know what kind of oil he needs also

you shouldn't need to mix oil with gas on a four cycle engine. this is for two strokes.

The motor want turn the attachments i.e. string on the trimmer or blade on the edger

there is definitely a problem in the drive shaft. check to make sure there's nothing blocking the mal and female ends. if there is, clean it out and lubricate it so that the male will attach to the female slot. also check to see that both ends are not stripped. if the motor portion of it is stripped, which most liekly is out culprit, then it needs to be replaced, or you need to get a new trimmer. if you do, i recommend the Ryobi model CS26 gas trimmer.if the atachment shaft is stripped, the the attachment needs replacement. if you replace the motor portion you need not lubricate the attatchment slot. if the attachment is stripped, it needs to be replaced, but im quite sure the female end in the motor shaft is our problem. it could also be broken inside the shaft. make sure nothing falls out if you hold the attatching ends to the ground.
