There might be a way, but I don't have the phone at the moment. I have found there official manual at: http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/apac/phones/guides/Nokia_2690_APAC_UG_en.pdf

On page 39 it says you can go to Profiles and choose Personalize which changes the ringing tone events so that would be the closest place to try, otherwise there wasn't anything else, but give it a shot, it might just work. Maybe you can choose a different quieter ringtone for that part? Good luck.

Hope this helps!

How do I adjust the volume, too LOUD?

Hello jinniq51,

i have some tips on how to do it hope it helps :D

Settings
In this menu, you can adjust various phone
settings. To reset some menu settings to their
default values, select Restore factory set.
Tone settings
Select Menu > Settings > Tone settings and from the available
options:
Ringing tone-To set the tone for incoming calls
Ringing volume-To set the volume level for the ringing and
message alert tones. If you set Ringing volume to be level 2 or
above, your phone rings with the ringing volume ascending
from level 1 to the level you have set when there is an
incoming call.
Vibrating alert-To set the phone to vibrate when you receive a
call or a text message
Message alert tone-To set the tone to sound when you receive

How do you change ring tone for a text message on a blackberry tour 9630

Go to the sounds icon in the upper left corner of your main Home screen (the one that looks like a speaker with sound coming out of it). Scroll down the list that appears and select Set Ring Tones/Alerts. Click Messages, then SMS Text. Select the ring tone and volume that you want for text messages, as well as any other options (like vibrate) and then exit out and save your changes.

Nokia e50 wont notify me when i recieve a new text message

Hello there! thanks for using Fixya.com!

Try the following instructions, to personalize your Nokia E50!
Profiles
Warning: In the offline profile you cannot make or receive any calls, or use other features that require network
coverage. Calls still may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device. To make calls,
you must first activate the phone function by changing profiles. If the device has been locked, enter the lock code.

Select Menu > Tools > Profiles.
You can adjust and customize the ringing tones, alert tones, and other device tones for different events, environments, or caller
groups.
To customize a profile, scroll to the desired profile in the list, and select Options > Personalise.
Define the following settings:
Ringing tone — Select a ringing tone from the list, or select Tone downloads to open a bookmark folder containing a list of
bookmarks for downloading tones using the browser. To listen to the selected tone, select Play. If you have two alternate
phone lines in use, you can specify a ringing tone for each line.
Say caller's name — Activate the text-to-speech ringing tone feature. When someone from your contacts list calls you, the
device sounds a ringing tone that is a combination of the spoken name of the contact and the selected ringing tone.
Ringing type — Select how you want the ringing tone to alert.
Ringing volume — Select the volume level of the ringing tone.
Message alert tone — Select a tone for received text messages.
Or you may still go to this website for more info! http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/nokia_E50

Text message tone volume, LG KP500, Cookie

Go to Profiles, and choose a Customized Profile. Rename it to whatever you prefer. In this profile you can select your ring tone, message tone, volume, etc. I only had to do this once, and everything worked perfectly!

Nokia 6600 no new message received display

HI Qrasengan,
1) Open the menu, and go to profiles.
2) Enter the general option, and click on personalise.
3) after that, several option appears.
4) some of them are ringing tone, ringing type, ringing volume, message alert tone, vibrating alert, etc.
5) Go to message alert tone and change the tone u want to listen when message is received.
NOte :Only wav or midi formats are accepted as ringing tone. MP3s are not accepted as ringing tones in NOKIA 6600. U need to install a software "mp3 as ringing tone" or "mp2wmaogg.codec" to make mp3 as ringing tone.
===============================================
If u want that software, send me feedback or reply.
And I will deliver u as email in ur email id.
