If I wish to replace the door insert on an Electrolux EDV 605, can I do so without removing the door from the dryer?

Difficult without a Model. Electrolux make about a thousand dryers!

To reset your Electrolux dryer, press and hold the "temperature" and "dryness" buttons simultaneously. Keep these buttons depressed for at least six seconds to reset the machine. If this doesn't clear your error code, you likely need service.

I have fixed a lot of these Dryers with that same problem.
The control board needs three relays to be replaced.
You need to get the same type relays.

timed cycle mean dryer not on sensor dry mode. check wire connection on moisture sensor bars (i think you forget to put 2 wire connector put together). when you use other cycle dryer use moisture sensor to dry cloths so sensor not working dryer will stop in 5 minutes or so because dryer think there are no wet cloths to dry. hope this help you.

Check Outlet Thermal Limiter for continuity. For Gas Model, also

check Inlet Thermal Limiter for continuity. If Thermal Limiter is open,

check for evidence of high temperature event and any resulting damage...
If no further damage is evident, replace Thermal Limiter

Hello Elizabeth P Cochran - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If the door does not open, then it sounds like the washer is possibly experiencing a communication problem with the control board, wiring failure or faulty door lock. Contact a professional to move forward accurately to properly diagnose/repair unit.

Your exhaust vent is blocked causing the steaming affect.
Remove the exhaust vent from the rear of the dryer and clean it thouroughly before replacing. Make sure it is straight as possible with no kinks.

Is it gas or electric? It could have a bad timer, heating element, power problem, circuit breaker could have tripped, or blown fuse or burnt wires inside dryer. I believe the top pops off from inserting a screw driver between the top and front dryer frame and pushing in 2 clamps located near each side. Then the front unscrews from the inside. Or a bottom panel might come off same way underneath the door.
