Well you would need to find out your routers default username and password and you would have to go to is address normally something like 192.168.x.xxx depends on the make, then you would go in and change the username and password. A simple google search should give you the information about the router you have and the default username and password.

How to set the wireless password

The wireless password is set in your router configuration.

You need to access your router's configuration screens to set the password. This is usually done by directing your web browser to your router by typing in a web address something like http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1. After you connect and login, you will see screens that show your router configuration and you are looking for something like "wireless access" or "wifi access".

You will need to know the administrative user id and password of your router to login and access these screens. Assuming you haven't changed it from the default, these user ids and passwords can be found in the routers documentation, either printed or online or by using a web search engine. If your router came from your ISP (telephone or cable company) sometimes the admin user and password are printed on a label somewhere on the router.

For more specific instructions, please post the make and model of router you are trying to set up.

How to configure router to other computer without internet?

For a computer to connect to router there is no need for internet.
If your router is active and functional any computer in its range can be connected with wires by ethernet port or wirelessly with wireless card.
If your computer has wireless card it will recognize the Linksys router and you can connect automatically unless you have a password set for wireless security.
If you need to log on to the router and change settings first step is connect your computer to router wireless or wired then open web browser like Internet explorer or firefox. type 192.168.1.1 this will open a dialogue box for user id and password leave user id blank and type admin in password line. once you are router page you can configure settings on router.
If you need help with setting up router post the question again! good luck

Installed Reuter on Apple MacBook and when I try to connect to internet I get a sign in with dsln Ian:80: and asking for user name password. I have used the user name and password supplied but it does not...

Hi, Is this a wireless router? To setup wireless router is first you have to connect directly your router to your computer using the a regular ethernet port not the internet port. Open the web browser and type in at the the address bar the IP address 192.168.1.1 and hit enter. User Id and password will appear. depending the brand of router the user ID and the password will be. The common user ID is admin the password it might be password or admin in lower case. Now you can access the router setting you can configure to whatever setting you like. You can change the router password, access point etc. When you done, connect your modem the internet port and that should work. configure your laptop access point. I hope this information will solve your router problem.

I need a user id.

The user id is whatever you programmed it to when you set the router up. IF this was setup by your service provider then it is whatever they use when they set up routers. In most cases the factory sets them to "admin" with a password of "administrator". Hope this helps.

No choice, your have to reset the router to it factory default settings. Just look at the rear side of your router beside the power supply input, there is a reset button, just turn on your router and press the router for more than 5 sec. Please note that, this action will clears the router’s user
