How do i fix error 976.0 on lexmark ms410dn

A 976.xx error can be caused by IPv6 (i.e., internet protocol version 6) compatibility issues. It is possible to resolve this issue by disabling IPv6 in the Network Menu.

When my computer wakes up it sometimes gives me an error that there is an IP address conflict and will not connect to internet. I have 1 oe 2 laptops and 2 direct tv recoders attached.

Hi, Lets we disable your IPV6 to IP V4 only .

Do you know how to disable IPv6 in Windows Vistair?t=homnetwirneta-20&l=ur2&o=1? Do you know it's enabled by default? It's pretty simple actually! As I know some might even want to uninstall IPv6, but you won't be able to do it as this is built-in feature in Vista kernel. Although IPv6 is developed with better security and aimed to overcome the shortage of IPv4 addresses, but there are several reasons why people still wish to disable this feature:

- Totally not going to use this IPv6 feature as it's not that popular yet and don't know how to use it
- Disabling this IPv6 feature can conserve Windows' CPU and memory resources
- Better network performance with disabled IPv6 feature
Somehow there are still some disadvantages for disabling this IPv6 feature: you will not be able to use Windows Meeting Space or any application that relies on the Windows Peer-to-Peer Networking platform or the Teredo transition technology. If you are not going to be affected by those disadvantages, let's proceed to do it:
1) Go to Start and right click on Network and then click Properties.
2) Network and Sharing Center window will appear, after that click Manage network connections.

3) Network Connections window will appears. Here you can right click on the network card that you wish to disable IPv6 and click Properties.

4) In the Local Area Connection Properties window, untick Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) and click OK.
Note: This method disables IPv6 on your LAN interfaces and connections, but does not disable IPv6 on tunnel interfaces or the IPv6 loopback interface. You need to make change in Windows registry in order to disable the IPv6 on tunnel interface. You can stop here if don't feel like working with Windows registry. If not, proceed with Step 5.

5) Type regedit in command prompt in order to launch registry editor.

6) Registry editor will appear, proceed to locate following registry item:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters\DisabledComponents
Note: If the DisabledComponents item is unavailable, you must create it:
a) In the Edit menu, go to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.

b) Type DisabledComponents, and then press ENTER.

7) Double-click DisabledComponents, set the value as 0xffffffff (hexadecimal value) (just type ffffffff) to disable IPv6 on LAN interfaces, connections, and tunnel interfaces except the IPv6 loopback interface, finally click OK.

8) You must restart the computer for this registry value to take effect.

How to reset Paradyne (1740A1400) Router ?

Hi Samsungvt!

You will have to access the Web Interface of the Paradyne Router to reset it to Factory Defaults.

First, connect your PC to the Paradyne Router. Check your IP address is in the range 192.168.1.xx (xx = any number from 1-254). Open your web browser, type 192.168.1.1 then press enter. Enter the default username and password (shown below) to access the router's web interface. On the left pane, click Erase and Reboot; this will reset the router to factory default.

Default IP address is 192.168.1.1
Default Username and Password: root

Let me know if there's anything else...

In regards to your question aboout IPV6 this is not standard that is supported yet. IPV6 is s future technology that his been added so that when this becomes a standard your current hardware will work with it.

So if you are having network trouble it should not be related to IPV6. If you can let me know some more about your problem I can see what I can do to address your issue.

How do I reset the Privilege password on a 2600? The former IT Manager left without telling us what it is, and now we're screwed.

you need a reboot and a serial console I'm afraid. Lots of places on Cisco that detail the password recovery process, it's quite complex so I'm not going to go into detail, but you need to be physically in the same room connected with a serial console cable (9600 baud) for it to work. Basically, use break to interrupt the startup, change the config register to ignore startup config, reboot , go to enable mode, copy run start, enter config mode and reset the password.
