Is your needle in correctly. check your manual for needle position and be sure the bobbin is in correctly.

I am not 100% sure on this machine but on most emb. machines they have a sensor connected to the take up spring. When the spring goes up and down the machine thinks things are ok. When the spring does not move it thinks the thread is broken. So...make sure the upper threading is correct. Make sure you have bobbin thread. If this all is ok then the spring may be broken. The spring is located where you make the "U" turn at the bottom of threading and go back up. Hope this helps.
