My gamecube does not spin the discs that i put into it and does not read them. Is there something i can do to fix this without having to buy a new one?

One time I ccidently touched the lens in my 10 year old gamecube so now the lens and the laser dont read the discs anymore because it is knocked out of anglement so you could buy a new gamecube now or buy a wii because wii's can still play gamecube disc's too.

I bought a gamecube online and it wont spin the disk

Sounds like you need the Gamecube sensor switch replaced. That is a small door device for detecting when the Gamecube DVD door or lid is closed allowing disc initiation to begin. When your Gamecube doesn't detect disk at all and simply continues the message: "Please insert a NINTENDO GAMECUBE DISC," this is the problem. You can test this by inserting a game disc, opening the Gamecube door, and then closing it. If the message "Please insert a NINTENDO GAMECUBE DISC" remains unchanged, and there is no spinning of the disk, then your GameCube lid closed door sensor is probably broken and should be replaced. You can search Google for Part GCPT032, or for GameCube Lid Closed Door Sensor.

An easy fix if you know how to open the Cube. It's cable simply plugs in, and it is held by one tiny screw.

It wont read

when was the last time you cleaned the GameCube? Perhaps the laser is dirty and can't read your disc.  Also It check that there are no scratches on the disc itself.

My gamecube wont read my game disc

Its either the game disc or the lens of the gamecube. Try cleaning the disk or try another disc. If the cube still doesn't read the disk your lens is probably scratched in which case you would need a new gamecube.

My gamecube problems.

If the disc does not spin or spins strangely, it is almost always because the gamecube is having problems reading the disc, and not a problem with the motor. The laser can be adjusted to a higher power, but you will need several special tools to do so. You should be able to find a guide by googling for gamecube laser adjust. If that doesn't solve the problem, you either need to replace the laser or the laser control board.

Wii/Gamecube game

Yes you can play gamecube games with no emulators. The memory card slots and controller ports are located on top.

Disc wont read and game won't spin

I Had The Same Problem! And I Have A Solution. Unscrew the top off and look inside.
there is the off and on switch on the opposite side to the right of it are 2 little switches, they have probably been displaced, they must be held back, the problem is they are running the disks around and it they aren't in the back they wont do anything. The Laser Should Be Cleaned using a Q-tip and Peroxide. Don't Use Too Much Just Clean Off The Laser, If That Doesn't Work, Its A Problem Inside The Machine, And is Extremely Hard To Fix, If Thats Your Problem, I Would Just Buy A New One For 99$ Rather Then Paying 80$ For Some Guy To Look At It And Say You Cant Fix It, If He Can Fix It, You Were Lucky, But If I Were You, I Wouldn't Take That Chance, Try What I Said, It Worked For Me, Now My Cube Is As Good As New. XD
I Really Hope This Has Helped You.

Gamecube console

You may have to adjust the POT of the GameCube lens... The POT is basically the power and spread the lens uses to read discs... the problem is, over a long period of time, the POT figure drops down, and if it drops too low, you will need to replace the lens.. The machine could still be salvageable, and play games and load them faster than before if you adjust the POT on the machine.. Here is a guide on what is required to open up the machine and do it, if you feel it necessary.... http://modthatcube.pxn-os.com/content/pot.htm
