Easy enough....

1. Be sure the guard assembly is securely attached to the gear case.

2. Put the backing flange onto the tool spindle

3. Place the depressed center wheel on the tool spindle as shown.

4. Thread the threaded clamp nut on tool spindle as shown.

5. Hold the tool spindle by engaging the spindle lock pin, and tighten clamp washer with wrench

How to change a grinder blade on a ryobi grinder

Handheld grinder or bench grinder? I'll assume you're asking about a handheld grinder.

Engage the arbor lock. You may need to rotate the wheel until you find the spot where the arbor lock locks the wheel. Use a wrench or a gloved hand to unscrew the wheel (I use my bare hand). Screw the replacement wheel on and disengage the arbor lock. The new wheel doesn't need to be very tight, it'll tighten itself as you work.

Should the wheel move in stopoped position

It should rotate freely, but it should feel like it's turning gears on the inside of the grinder. It should NOT be floppy, and it should NOT spin as if it's not turning gears inside the grinder. It should run straight and true.

It's possible that you didn't remember to install the inner (backup) arbor washer before installing the wheel. If you do that, the wheel will spin completely freely on the arbor shaft. Find that washer and install it under the wheel.

It's also possible that you installed a very thin cutoff wheel but your grinder won't accept one, that it requires a full-thickness grinding wheel. Some grinders won't grip a very thin cutoff wheel correctly.

Operating instructions for DW 756

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/DW756TYPE1-Dewalt-Parts-BENCH+GRINDER-manual

The link should connect to the manual for DW 756. If the link does not work, go to the Sears parts web page and look up the grinder.

Manual for Delta 23-199 8-Inch Variable Speed Grinder with Toolless Quick Change

If the arbor hole is not perfectly centered and perpendicular, it would be dangerous to try to compensate by dressing the wheel. Since the grinder is new, contact the seller. They should replace the wheel for free.

I changed grinder stone wheels and replaced with buffing wheel... now the grinder will stall when i try to buff things... what went wrong or what did i do and how can i fix it?

Buffing takes a lot of power, maybe a lot more than you expected. Bench grinders come in lots of sizes and power levels. If you have a small, or inexpensive, or fractional hp grinder, it simply isn't up to the task. By the way, rpm is also a big factor. A grinder, especially a smaller one, turns at a pretty high rpm. A given hp rating at a high rpm gives less torque than the same hp rating on a different grinder with a lower rpm. On your grinder you might get away with smaller diameter and/or narrower buffing wheels that you use very lightly. Otherwise, your grinder just isn't going to cut it.

Dewalt dw 400 grinder is locked up

Two things come to mind. One the drive head (gear box) has failed. Remove the cover from the gear box and see what is going on in there. Second, do you know the button you push to lock the drive so can remove or install (tighten) a new wheel? Make sure it is releasing. Most of these are spring loaded and if that spring fails the lock mechanism can stay engaged. Hope this helps.

Hi i have a Kitchenaid 24 in MODEL KUDIO1IL8L5 TYPE 577-0 problem is 2fold 1st,after starting 2minutes in a grinding noise from down below starts then stops when water starts.2nd we now have a rumble...

ok, I don't have the same dishwasher, but it is a kitchenaid, and it had the same symptoms.

most dishwashers have a food grinder under the strainer. as the water is forced past a wheel and sprayed up on your dishes, the wheel spins a wire-mesh wheel that grinds up the left over mac & cheese, and Grape-nuts.

if you've ever broken a glass in the dishwaher, or the like, this stuff get's down in the mesh, and messes things up.

Fixing this is not easy, because you have lean inside the DW for a long time. But it's worth saving a bunch of money.

1. remove the racks and the center screw that holds the bottom spinner on.
2. remove the feed tube to the top rack spinner as applicable.
3. remove the screws that hold the bottom mesh cover on. pretty much, if you see a screw, take it out.
4. eventually you will be looking into a hole in the middle of your DW.
5. here you should have a single screw on one side that holds a cover plate onto the grinder. the screw is easy to get out, but you will have to work at the rest of it. it comes straight up.
6. this should expose the wheel and all the junk.
7. take it all out and vacuum it out.
8. the wheel is held in place with a spring and nylon coupler, that allows the wheel to STOP moving if something jams it up. when it does this, the couples clicks as the shaft rotates without it.
9. Getting it all back together is a chore. insert the wheel making sure it aligns inthe correct slot. align the cover's correct slot. make sure the coupler is actually in contact with the shaft.
10. snap the cover on, this may take several tries. and you're going to need a hot pad by now for your back, which should be ON FIRE.
11. once you back stops spasming and you've got the grinder cover back on, the rest is a breeze.
12. while you've got it all apart, clean the rubber seals around the doors, and lubricate them with some silicon lubricant if you have it available.
