I need the symantec patch for partition magic 8.0 to get it to 8.01 so i can apply YET ANOTHER update to correct an error 1513 that comes up in partition magic version 8.0 and 8.01 symantec has a web page that describes the error and shows the update file but when you try to download it you get a file does not exist. i think they pulled the file!!! The 2nd patch will not work unless PM is at version 8.01. here is the symantec web page: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/powerquest.nsf/56d21993ad4e6baa88256e91005066ad/03ff4f1e5474fa6088256e75007cbc2f?OpenDocument&src=bar_sch_nam

SOURCE: error 1513, partition magic

YEP ... you can not re-size with success any partition that contain a operating system ...just for the simple cause that you can not format it with success after ...so ..if you want to re-size them ...just reinstall the os...and format the partitions during the re-installation ...but keep in mind that you will loose any data on the hdd ..so ..even when you use partition magic..the new rebuild partition need to be formatted if not ...it will be just the same but with some unallocated space ...and with the other smaller... so reinstall and rebuild both partitions...be sure you know what you are doing cause you might end up with a dual boot ..or worse ...with a single partition ....etc

Partition table error 105 found

#105 Partition starts on wrong boundary
You may need to use the FDISK program from a recent DOS version because earlier versions may refuse to delete HPFS or hidden partitions, and the OS/2 FDISK program may recognize the partition's corruption and refuse to modify it.
In some cases, you can resolve partition table errors manually.

Hi, i have an asus eee pc 900 and constant in trouble with my harddisk space. I took off all unnessesairy programs and am only running xp with the sp2 and 3 pack. every time i get an update from microsoft...

It could work either way. You can also do the following to free up more disk space on drive C:
1. Windows updates downloaded from Microsoft web site by the Automatic Update service are stored under the following path: C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download. After applying each update, you can delete the contents of this folder. This will give you more room on drive C: for downloading future updates.
2. In the C:\Windows folder, the uninstall information for applied patches & updates are stored. These are useful if you have to roll back a patch or update that caused problems to your system after being applied. You can move the folders holding those information to drive D: to free up more disk space on drive C:, or even delete the folders for the older updates since they have been most likely applied long time ago without causing any problems with the system, & hence it is less likely that you would need to roll them back. The folders holding the uninstall information have names in the following format "$NtUninstallKB946648_0$". These folders are hidden, so you will have first to go to the Tools>Folder Options menu, select the View tab, & enable the "Show hidden files and folders".
