It is possible that the phone has errors in the software and so the SIM registerations is not being processed. Also it can be due to a hardware issue. But to start we can try a reset. Now to reset remove the battery and the memory card from the phone. Using your PC , scan the memory card for any corrupt files or media files with virus- it is possible when they are downloaded from unsafe sites. If so remove or format the card. Now replace the card and battery and switch on the phone. If the phone hangs up then it is confirmed that the software is corrupt and will need a reinstallation. Seeking help from the authorized service /support centre is most ideal. Take estimate and decide.

Nokia 6300 SIM card registration failed

If your Nokia 6300 phone displays an error message saying "Invalid Sim (or) Sim Registration failed" then your phone is probably network locked.
You can unlock it easily by using an unlock code. You can get this code at reasonable cost from TheUnlockArena.com with easy step by step unlocking instructions and unlock it.Then you can use freely any GSM network Sim card.

I have a reasonably new 6120 but as of this morning people cannot hear me talk. I had the same problem with my N85 which stopped suddenly also.

If you used a same SIM card for those phones, I think its signal problem, when signal is low the connection will be disturbed sometime as no sound or cut suddenly during call conversation. Try to use different SIM card provider, with stronger signal will better, then put in these device. If the problem solved then its operator signal problem. The solution is change the SIM card.
But if you have try to change with other SIM card with stronger signal but people still can't hear you, then its microphone problem. You need to repair or replace your phone's microphone.

Hope this help and if this helpful RATE please.

Shows 6120c sim card registration failed

Clean the backside of the SIM and the connectors where you insert it. Clean it with a cotton swab dipped in whisky. Before you do that, squeez the dripping liquid (as you would not want your phone getting intoxicated). The alcohol cleans better that any thing else.

I get an opening message: "SIM card registration failed" - what does this mean? then i can't receive nor send any msgs.

There are 3 causes of Sim Card Registration Failed, when you first turn on the phone, the sim card attempts to connect to the network if it can not do this it gives a message like Sim Card Registration failed.

1, The sim card is turned off, if you have had the sim card for a while and it hasnt been used they will turn it off, you need to contact them from another phone to get it turned on or get a new sim card.

2, The phone has a hardware reception problem, when it attempts to register itself with the network it can not... There is a reception problem and it requires repairs, this isnt really an easy diy job on this handset.

3, The phone is blocked, i.e reported lost or stolen. Some networks when a phone is reported will allow it to get reception but will not let it make calls, however other networks will not give it reception at all and hence you get a Sim Card Registration failed message.

I hope this helps, these are the causes of the message

Sim registration failed

most of this nokia phone(the old ones) do often experience such problem due to it's constant falling on the ground.
in such cases after restarting the phone the problem should be corrected for a while...............using a NEW sim card and practically the one of a network with the strongest signal does in most cases rectifies the problem a bit.
all the same i would ask you to send it to a phone technician for more help.
good luck
