My webcam night mode is turn off how can i turn it back on

Face Recognition Usually you'll find the webcam at the top and middle of the laptop screen. One unique feature included with the webcam on newer Toshiba laptops including the Satellite Pro, Portege and Qosmio models is facial recognition. Instead of having to type in a password when you open the laptop, you can set up the computer to recognize your face and automatically load your settings. b> Setup b> To access the face recognition feature on a Toshiba laptop, open the laptop to the registration screen and click the Face Recognition icon. Look at the circle that appears on the screen and align your face so that it fits within the circle, and then click "Next." At the next page, enter your name and password and click "OK." The next time you use the computer, click on your Face Recognition icon from the main screen and look at the webcam so it can recognize your face and load your settings. b> Night Mode b> If you're in a low-light situation you can take advantage of the webcam's Night Mode effect. To turn it on, open the Camera Assistant by clicking the Start button, and then select "All Programs."

Select the "Camera Assistant" folder and then select the "Camera Assistant" software. Once it's open, hover your mouse over the far left hand side of your laptop screen. This will cause a number of webcam icons to appear. Click the "Properties" icon, which looks like a box with a pen over the top left of the box. Click the "Night Mode" check box from the Properties window and then click "OK." b> Other Profiles b> You can also alter other effects and features of the webcam from the Camera Assistant. First open the Camera Assistant by clicking the Start button, and then select "All Programs." Select the "Camera Assistant" folder and then select the "Camera Assistant" software. Then hover your cursor on the far left of the screen until you see the webcam menu appear, and select the "Properties" icon. Then click on an individual "Profile" tab to adjust the white balance, lower or raise the brightness, or correct the colors. As you click on the adjustment, you should see the change reflected in the way the webcam is displaying on your laptop. When you've selected the settings you want, click "OK" from the Profile window.

Why dont the webcam wanna work on my compaq presario cq62

Most HP laptops come equipped with a built-in webcam. However, many casual users have difficulty accessing the webcam. Whether, you have deleted the HP Webcam icon from your Desktop, or you are a first time user, there is an easy way of accessing the Webcam. The only requirement is that you have the HP QuickPlay software and latest driver for the webcam installed on your computer.

Download the latest driver for the Webcam:

1. Go to the HP Support and Drivers website for the most update-to-date HP Drivers. Enter laptop's model number, which can be found on the front of the laptop screen as well as the product sticker on the bottom. Choose the exact model from the list that shows up. Then select your operating system. Download the webcam driver from the list of available driver and software programs. Install the driver and reboot the computer at the end of the installation process.

2. Launch the HP QuickPlay application. Almost all HP laptops have the program pre-installed, but if for some reason you don't have the program, it can be downloaded from the HP website (link provided in Resources section).

3. Click on the "Music Videos Pictures" icon in HP Quickplay. HP Webcam will be available among the list of devices. Click on the HP Webcam button to turn it on(you will see a light next to webcam lens and an image will show up on the screen).

4. Double-click the active webcam image to enlarge it to full-screen.

5. Scroll down to the lower left corner of the screen and click on the "Snapshot Image" icon to take a picture. Click the "Record" icon to record a video.

6. Click the "Info/More Settings" icon denoted with a lowercase "i" to change settings such as the aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9), or recording quality.

7. Use adequate lighting for the webcam considering its limited image quality and low light capabilities.

8. Now that you have installed the driver for the webcam, most 3rd party programs should also be able to detect and access the webcam. It can even be used it with messenger applications for video chatting/conferencing.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using fixya.

My webcam isnt working

Go to this site: http://www.msimobile.com/default.aspx

From there choose the products dropdown box at the top left....
locate your laptop model. From there if you go into the page of your product, they have "Driver/Manual Download" buttons for the models.

Click that and find the driver for your webcam and try to reinstall it.
They may have an update to your existing driver that will help.

You can also go into the device manager in Windows and "uninstall" the webcam by right clicking, and then reboot your machine to see if Windows automatically reinstalls the driver using plug and play.

Good Luck

My dell inspiron 1525 webcam wont work with yahoo messenger

This is happening because the Dell webcam central is accessing the webcam at the same time as yahoo messenger. Click on start and click on Run(XP), Type MSCONFIG in start search (Vista) and you'll get the system configuration utility. Open it and go to the startup tab. Uncheck anything related to Dell webcam. Click on Apply and OK and restart the computer. If yahoo messenger shows a black screen uninstall Yahoo messenger and reinstall with the more recent version.

there is always a plug n play method to anything you want to add to your computer, however you do need a internet source, plug n play normally does require downloading software for webcams, but if you can go online then you can find the software on the internet when your computer recognizes the webcam has been plugged in
