I have an older PC with Windows 98. I bought a Canon MP 250 but need a driver for my windows 98 to install the Canon. Can you help me? Thank you

Do you mean the Canon Pixma MP250 all-in-one? The drivers and software for supported OS versions are available here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/printers_multifunction/photo_all_in_one_inkjet_printers/pixma_mp250#DriversAndSoftware . Use the drop down menu to pick your OS version. (Windows 98 through Windows 7 x64 are supported, as is Mac OSX.)

Scroll down and download and install the MP Navigator EX if you want the computer to respond to button presses on the all-in-one.

Canon USA indicates ME and 98 are no longer supported and do not show any available drivers. Three other sites I commonly use for printer drivers is not showing a driver there either.

You might be able to load a standard printer driver or a driver from a comparable Canon model. However, doing so may not give you full functionality and unreliable print results.

Sorry, but best recommendation here is to move up to at least Windows XP assuming your PC has minimum requirements for doing so.

note that windows 98 is no longer compatible with recent gadgets like you printer. this means that your pc registry is not able to load up the modules for installation process that needs certain requirements that your windows 98 do not meet.

the best option i advice you on is to check your pc's performance: your ram, processor and power supply. if your ram is over 512mb and your processor is near or above 1ghz, then you can either install another windows on the system without removing your 98 windows. this will help you install any other devices by using the other windows modules and swiching between the windows easily. this option is not advisable but helpfull when you do not want to override you existing windows so you could add any machine to your pc.

i know this might be a boring and a long process to consider if the printer you have does not support windows 98, but you could try it if you willing.

Have you visited www.canon.com for software support and downloads. I did for my Mp 600 as it wasn't Vista compatible and well happy with result.

Go to this link. Select Windows 98 as the operating system. You will find the driver, and also the MP Navigator under Software. Download and install both.

The MP210 does not support Win98, and Win2000 driver doesn't work with Win98... so it's impossible to use this printer with an OS older than Win2000.

This player works only with Windows XP/SP1 or below. Here is an exact quote from the company:
If you have WindowsXP SP2, we recommend that you go back to Windows XP SP1 before Microsoft solves the problem.
