I've purchased an 1 ton split ac from Panasonic. Model No is CS/CU - KC12MKY - 2 and installed yesterday(24th March 2011).
I would like to know whether this model comes with Super-alleru buster filter in the standard package.
This seems to be a standard feaature now. See this page:http://panasonic.co.jp/corp/news/officia...This seems to be a standard feaature now. See this page: http://panasonic.co.jp/corp/news/official.data/data.dir/en060925-4/en060925-4.html

It can handle five tons, or a 60000 btu ac. Tonnage is a measurment for the ac, 1 ton-12000 btus. The ac dose the cooling. the furnace simply blows the air, so if its a good furnace, and sized right, no need to replace it. Simply add the split system to the existing furnace. If you want the tonnage of the ac size, let me know your homes squarefootage, age, condition. Do NOT include the basement in the sq. ft.
Did you figure out why the ac wasn't responding to the remote? I am having the same problem. I just cleaned out the filters but it's still not responding to the remote. I have already tried reset button in the remote, which didn't help. I am pretty sure that the remote is not out of battery.
You have a LEAK from installation that must be found & repaired before any more GAS is added to the system. Then it will normaly need a little gas every 3 years.
