If the leak is under the kettle just replace it with a new one. Water and electricity are a DANGEROUS mixture. There is a VERY high risk of electrocution and of fire if you keep using this kettle. New ones are usually cheap enough for a basic kettle.

Tried customer support on 0161 652 1211 who said replacements are no longer available.
You can use the kettle without the filter but the auto-stop feature is likely not to work so don't leave it unattended.

basicly the motor has blown up it needs a new heating rod and that should sort out the problem.:)

No you should not use a glass kettle or glass type pots on a ceran top stove. Always use metal flat bottom kettle and pots. When buying a metal kettle make sure that there is no gap between the bottom of the kettle and the surface of the ceran top. Some metal kettles have an indentation on the bottom. This does not work well on the ceran top.

this is more likley to be the switch its just a bimetallic type,when it gets hot steem on it it flicks the switch to turn the kettle off try giving it a realy good clean up inside around the switch it may just be lime scale blocking the vent hole
however normaly when the switch playes up its a new kettle

At 8 months old it should still be under warranty unless things are radically different where you are.

Take it back to the supplier under warranty.

Some switches are called momentary and others are the click on and click off type.
It could be a problem with the switch if is is the click on type.
It could be a relay that "seals in" when you press the on off switch to on.
By "seal in" I mean, the kettle is wired so that when the relay coil energizes, it closes a contact when it is electrified and becomes an electric magnet and the energy that was going through the on off button, is now going through the closed contact on the relay.
If you don't here a clicking sound like you used to, it could be a fuse inside inside of the electrical box on or by the kettle.
I don't know by the information, if this is a household small appliance or commercial?
Even if household, it should have the same basic setup.
