goto control panel...goto search function line.. type in web cam... follow instructions or Goto HP web site, they will walk you through it or do it by remote control

Go onto the web under your web cam manufacturers and there you should find the driver for it.

I have a built in web-cam in my advent milano elite net-book but i dont know whether it has it own programme or not, so i dont know how to use it please help.

the web cam should be working provided no one has uninstalled it's driver.

most people would use MSN or skype which are both free programs to use a web cam.

I dont know how to turn on my built in webcam

go to device manager and check is driver loaded for web cam device.
go to scanners/camera icon in contrl panel and click on that
click on camera icon i u can see any live streem then web cam will be working
if not
restall web cam driver software and test as above

I dont know the web cam model & dont have the installation CD

All you can do is go here > http://www.zebronics.net/driverdownloads.asp and download all the drivers and try each one.... The ones to suit your OS.

You have to access it through the webcam software thats on your computer.

You need a particular program in order to use the webcam, open the start menu and type the word "cam" one of the HP / Compaq programs should appear and you should be able to take pictures that way. However if you're looking to talk to someone over the internet via the webcam you will need a program such as skype or oovoo, and so would the other person.

The webcam is already on (provided the drivers are installed, which will be if you haven't formatted your system).
Just run an application that uses the webcam.
The standard webcam webcam application, or skype, or google video chat, or any other such software.
