I believe that's a requirement for that particular DVD software. There are 2 options that I know of.

a). Try a different DVD player package

b). Enable Windows Aero theme. You will need to make sure the "Theme Service" is running under services (You can access this by right clicking My Computer (or Computer) and going to "Manage". Then "Services and Applications" in the left pane... then Services. Make sure the "Themes" services is started, and is set to Automatic.)

Then ...right click on your desktop and go to "Personalize". Make sure you have one of the "Aero Themes" selected and save your settings...

Then after you confirm this... Right click Computer / My Computer again and choose Properties. Go to the Advanced Tab... click the "Settings" button under performance. Under the Visual Effects tab, make sure "Enable Aero Peek" is selected...as well as "Enable desktop composition" and
"Use visual styles on windows and buttons". Nothing else is really required...

That should meet the Aero Requirements.

What operating system do I need, so that when I run my cursor along the menu bar a window pops up, rather than a small text box?

How do I get the Aero desktop experience? The following editions of Windows 7 include Aero:
  • Windows 7 Enterprise
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • Windows 7 Professional
  • Windows 7 Ultimate
Aero is not included in Windows 7 Home Basic or Windows 7 Starter. You can find out which edition of Windows 7 you have on your computer by opening System in Control Panel.

The edition of Windows 7 you're running is displayed under Windows edition near the top of the window.
You also need to use a Windows theme to display Aero graphics. If you are using an Ease of Access theme, some elements such as transparency and thumbnail previews will not appear. To view which theme you are using, open Personalization in Control Panel.

The theme currently in use is highlighted.
tip

"Aero features are'nt running in window's 7"

Solution: Check that your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements for running Aero:

1-gigahertz (GHz) 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

1 gigabyte (GB) of random access memory (RAM)

128-megabyte (MB) graphics card

Aero also requires a DirectX 9 class graphics processor that supports a Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel.

For best results, you might also want to follow these graphics processor recommendations:

64 MB of graphics memory to support a single monitor with a resolution that is less than 1,310,720 pixels (for example, a 17–inch flat panel LCD monitor that has a 1280 × 1024 resolution)

128 MB of graphics memory to support a single monitor with a resolution from 1,310,720 to 2,304,000 pixels (for example, a 21.1–inch flat panel LCD monitor that has up to a 1600 × 1200 resolution)

256 MB of graphics memory to support a single monitor with a resolution greater than 2,304,000 pixels (for example, a 30–inch wide-screen flat panel LCD monitor that has up to a 2560 × 1600 resolution)

To turn on window frame transparency, the color scheme must first be set to Windows Aero.

1.Open Personalization by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Personalization.

2.Click Window Color and Appearance.

3.Select the Enable transparency check box.

To change the color scheme to Windows Aero

1.Open Appearance Settings by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Window Color and Appearance. If the Appearance Settings dialog box is not displayed, at the bottom of the page, click Open classic appearance properties.

2.In the Color scheme list, click Windows Aero, and then click OK.

Check that your theme is an aero theme and not a normal theme. Themes are available in normal and aero and can be confusing. Set your theme as an aero theme and you should get the aero window working.

These steps will help us to have AERO running.

Windows 8 theme

You can just use Windows 7 without aero.
Just Google "Windows 8 theme" and you'll find matches.

Modifying your system files might cause your system to stop function properly or at all.

HOW TO DELETE AERO FROM MY WIN 7 HOME

Windows Aero Glass is Microsoft's 3-D high-end interface for Windows 7. In order to get this interface, you must be running a video card that supports running Aero Glass. Some video cards barely support running Aero Glass and performance suffers and the computer will lag. By simply disabling Aero Glass, you can take a crawling computer and bring new life into it. In any situation, if you want to increase performance, disable Aero Glass.

Right-click on the desktop and select Personalize. Select Windows 7 Basic theme and a "Please Wait" icon appears and changes your theme. Select Windows Classic theme if you are used to a Windows XP look and feel. A "Please Wait" icon appears and changes your theme. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/ce96731f-8f7a-4d13-ba9b-7826cb595e3d

The text on my pc keeps going blue, how can I stop it?

Windows allows you to change the themes of your computer. This includes the wallpaper, the screensaver when your computer is idle, any noises it makes, and even the color of the toolbars and windows. Sometimes, however, when you restart your computer, the theme will revert back to the Windows default theme, which is called Aero. This can be because you have not disabled Aero, because your performance settings are using too much energy, or because your screen resolution is too high or low for the theme you are using.
Screen Resolution b> The higher your screen resolution, the sharper the images and text will appear. Sometimes, however, the of the wallpaper for the theme is not the same as the screen resolution. This can cause your theme to revert back to the default. To fix this, click the "Start" button. Then click "Control Panel." In the "Control Panel" window click "Adjust Screen Resolution" under "Appearance and Personalization." Select the resolution that is the same as your wallpaper. b> Performance Settings b> If your computer is running on high performance settings, your computer's energy will be used quickly and Windows may automatically change the screen saver to keep the energy from running to low. To change your performance settings, open the "Control Panel" and click "System and Security." Then click "Change Battery Settings" under "Power Options" and select "Power Saver" or "Balance." b> Disable Aero b> Aero is the default theme setting for Windows Vista and Windows 7. If you try to change your theme and it reverts back to Aero, it is because Aero is still not disabled. To disable Aero, right-click on your desktop and click "Personalize." A window of all the themes on your computer will open. You will see "My Themes," which are any themes you have created, and "Aero Themes" under it. To disable Aero, click "Save Theme" under "My Themes" to make your current settings default, or select one of the themes under "My Themes." This will make that theme the default. b> Troubleshooter b> If you still cannot figure out why Windows changes the theme back to the default after restarting, you can use Windows's built-in troubleshooter. The troubleshooter will find the source of the problem and automatically fix it for you. To use the troubleshooter for your theme, open the "Control Panel" and click "System and Security." Then click "Troubleshoot Common Problems." Under "Action Center," select "Appearance and Personalization." The troubleshooter will run. When you restart after it completes its action, your theme should stay the same. Hope this helps.

How can i change my wallpaper? i had samsung n150pus.. i tried to look up in control panel setting i coud'nt see or find it!o

Hi fforinas,
Welcome to FixYa! How are you doing?
Are you using Windows 7 Starter Edition? If yes, then you cannot change the wallpaper.
Windows 7 Starter has limitations:

Windows 7 Starter does not include:

* Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the Windows Basic or other opaque themes. It also means you do not get Taskbar Previews or Aero Peek.
* Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes.
* The ability to switch between users without having to log off.
* 64 bit version
* Multi-monitor support.
* DVD playback.
* Windows Media Center for watching recorded TV or other media.
* Remote Media Streaming for streaming your music, videos, and recorded TV from your home computer.
* Domain support for business customers.
* XP Mode for those that want the ability to run older Windows XP programs on Windows 7.

I suggest that you upgrade your Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium.
Hope that helps. Thank you for using FixYa.
