Rather than pressing the "Big Red Button", try just pressing the power button, once, for like, a second. Depending on your printer's age, you may just need a new one.
Not sure about your machine but my Cannon would not work when my colour ink was low. The store I bought it says the manufacturer does this to sell coloured ink as well as black. The setting might say for black ink but there is a certain amount of colour goes in as well. I hardly ever used colour as I do business letters so I purchased a black ink jet which uses a black powder and I get 3000 pages for about 75 dollars worth of black jet powder.
Go to the printer specifications from the word program print window, check the "colour" settings, if colour printing is not marked, then mark it and your problem may be solved ...
Try unplugging it and check for specks of paper inside the printer, then try to replug it from outlet and turn it back on. try if it will copy then try printing. Hope this helps
check the properties and page settings before you print you may find your page settings are incorrect to what you want. Set to all pages, make sure print colour documents black is unckecked, make sure no other settings are telling it to print other than what you want. Post back if no good.
Make sure the cartiages are sitting tightly in the printer and isn't loose. There are contacts on the cartiages and if the contacts aren't touching the ones properly in the printer it will show that cartiages aren't there.
Yes, same thing happens to me...Error code 5010...and flashing green and orange...alternating lights. I was trying to photocopy (in basic black, not colour). I had a few pages to copy. I got this 5010 Error code after EACH copy! I had to turn off the printer after each copy and then turn it back on for the next copy. That's not the worse of it.....once I turned the printer back on and hit copy again...the printer took a VERY long time to scan the item for the next copy. It took me a good 40 minutes to copy 15 pages. Sooooo irritating!!!!!
Anyone know what to do?
I've also had the paper jam on me tons of times. I am really disappointed with this product. I would not recommend this printer to anyone!
