Make sure the cartiages are sitting tightly in the printer and isn't loose. There are contacts on the cartiages and if the contacts aren't touching the ones properly in the printer it will show that cartiages aren't there.

My lexmark x 5650 keeps saying alignment error, try to remove tape. I've done this multiple times, tried cleaning the cartridge, and it keeps saying alignment problem. ive unplugged and plugged back in...

alignment error usually means that one cartridge is not printing, or paper tray is empty.
try removing both cartridges then stamp each printhead on some folded tissue paper. You should get one solid strip of black ink with the black cart and 3 colour strips with the colour cart.
If you don't...there is your problem.

good luck

My HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer keeps randomly popping up with cartridge error. Take the out then reinsert to no avail. changed with new. still keeps popping up

If the "new" cartridges were brand new HP oem cartridges, there are two things I would do. First, take out the cartridges and inspect the contact area (where the electrical in the printer meets the electrical on the cartridge) and make sure there is no dirt or ink on the contacts. Secondly, remove both of the cartridges, close the lid, and pull out the power cord while the printer is on. Wait at least 10 minutes, plug in, power up and wait until it is done making noises. Open the lid and insert the black cartridge first(important!) and then the color. If this doesn't take care of the issue, replace the printer. (If you're sure the carts were brand-new)

Managed to get rid of error 1203 message. Now repeatedly getting install colour cartridge into righthand side. I've done this (repeatedly) but it's not recognising the cartridge

It could be Error 1203 is an issue that occurs either when a cartridge is bad or the printer cartridge Slot is bad...

1 - try cleaning the copper contacts of the both carts and cart slot in the printer and try again..
or
2 - when error shows up, shut the printers power off; wait one minute and turn it back on press copy.

The cartridges comes with the protect tape at the bottom please its removed, if removed please clean the copper contacts with dry tissue , if you get the same error try the old cart if you get the same error the printer is faulty or if dont get then the colour cart is defective get it exchange if you had brought original cart as it comes with 6 months warranty...............

MFC 210C Ink Problems

Steve,

did you watch the display after replacing the cart?
Very often the machine asks if you have changed the cart and demands an answer (1 for yes).

You can try to do an update of the firmware, too. Go to www.brother.com , choose your country and then your machine. Download a small update tool and run it.

If it aint getting better:
Do unplug from power outlet (even though you have done already) wait 10 Min. leave scanner cover open and take all carts out. Plugin to power again and leave scanner open. Wait uintil machine gives a warning signal. Reinsert carts and close cover: now watch the display and give always the answer YES(1).

Ink cartridge (not) installed properly

unplug machine from power outlet. take all carts out. wait 5 min. plug machine to power. wait until machine demands carts. reinsert carts and make sure they are secured. answer display when asked if you have changed.

If you still have the error message use a original brother cart.

Fatal Error 17H - toner cartridges will not advance

Open the front door and remove the toner bottle.

Look near the colour toner carts and you will see a small round hole. Jam a screwdriver in that hole and the carousel will rotate freely. Move the carousel round and remove each toner one at a time.
