I cant unscrew the glass cover for the oven light in order to change the globe

the oven glass will unscrew by twisting anti clockwise
It may be difficult to do as grease and fat is burnt to carbon in the threads ( use quality oven cleaner in the thread / grooves ) use only oven globes in ovens as normal globes will shatter the class from oven heat
oven globes are Pyrex glass

If your cover is the screw-on type, it takes a little patience to get it off. Try tapping the cover lightly with a rubber/wooden/plastic hammer or similar object. (I have used a wooden meat tenderizer). You don't want to break it. When you tap it, begin unscrewing it as you tap. The globe will move slightly. The tendency when it does move is to try to completely remove the globe, but this will just cause it to jam again. When it gives just a little, rotate the globe back towards the closed position then back towards the opened position, each time working the globe between positions where the globe will jam. What is usually the case is that there is a bit of built up cooking material that gets in between the glass and metal threads, and over a period of time makes into a crusty substance. By working the globe without forcing it, the crust breaks down into a finer material and the globe will come off.

Remove the fuze or switch off the oven circuit breaker in the electrical meter box to make sure power is off.
Remove protective glass cover. It usually unscrews. Even tap with a piece of wood. Unscrew the globe. If globe has broken it still needs to be unscrewed.

Turn oven off at the meter box Unscrew the glass cover, unscrew globe, and replace.

The glass cover definitely unscrews anti-clockwise, but mine was impossible to start moving by hand. I used a pair of adjustable pliers and while the glass cover is made out of pretty thick glass, I didn't want to be squeezing it so I set the pliers jaws to exactly the same width as the glass cover. Because the glass cover has 4 bumps set around it, the pliers jammed on them so I was able to unscrew it.
BTW, the globe under the cover is also a screw mount job - if you're looking for a replacement, keep in mind that it has to be a max of 25W.

unlike the older models were there was a small compartment were you could take of a small covering and unscrew / replace the globe they are now a sealed unit if you take the entire top of youl see the globe and black globe holder dont try to unscrew it they dont unscrew if you can order a new globe holder included then simply install as per removal but be carefull microwaves hold a lot of power even when disconnected from power dont touch the capacitor or it will shock you

If it is a round glass cover, then all you need to do is grip it firmly, and unscrew it anti-clockwise.
If it is a square glass cover in the side, then it may be held in place with a screw or spring clip.

Most oven lights have a wire over the glass globe, pop it sideways & remove the globe.

if there is a cover over the light globe you can normally unscrew it, it can be hard because of the heat that your oven runs at; take the light globe down to you local electrical supplier and they will most likely be able to find another one.

Most microwave ovens are easy to change the light globe.

If you can get the cover off where the light is, you should be able to 'unscrew' the light globe itself.

Then simply go to an appliance repair shop and request a new globe.

Hint: Sometimes you can get a globe from an electrical store.
