Re boot in safe mode if normal boot is not possible and run CHKDSK/F
DO NOT DISABLE ANTIVIRUS!!!!!!

That should sort hard disc errors out then download iobit.com and run the registry utility, that will remove more errors. It is a free ware programme and works very well.
Hope that sorts it out for you.

Hi,

This could be a problem with your hard drive.

Before taking it to a shop, please make sure you have NOTHING at all plugged in that wouldn't normally be there.

No USB devices (except KB and Mouse) - No memory cards - No external Hard Drive etc.....

All the above devices can be bootable.

My computer shut down windows to prevent damage from my computer

Try tapping the F5 or F8 key (could be either one) right after you power up. This should take you to a short text message with a couple of choices to continue; you'll find the Safe Mode option there.

Windows has shut down my computer. It said the following: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. I need to know how to get out of this

Try to start in safe mode. On some computers it is F5 or F8 during boot. Hitting delete while booting will open setup which may get you to safe mode. Once there, you need to do virus checking, and stuff like that.
