You can factory reset the router using the smal buton on the back. Hold it for 30 sec with the power on to the router. this clear all settings from the router including the password, so you will need to setup the router again after rest.

If you have the ID/password to login to the router, use them to login to the router, and then view the current password.

If you have "lost" that ID/password, you need to do a "factory-reset" to reset the router to the "default" ID/password. Then, use these "default" values to login to the router, and then to reconfigure both the "wired" and "wireless" network-adapters, and set a new password for your new wireless network.

1. Login the Admin.
2. Click on Advanced
3. Go to the Administration
4. Click on Set password
5. Enter old password.
6. Enter New password.

Netgear password for wi-fi , for xbox live and ipod

Wifi password can be obtain by accessing the Netgear WPN824 router using a computer connected to it.

How to access the router

Go to http://www.routerlogin.net

username: admin
password: password

-Click wireless settings
- security encryption options would display the WIFI password.
- its the KEY1

How do i re set a lost password so i can set up a secure network?

First connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then access your router with it's ip

http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
If you can't able to access it with above ip then press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then follow above method.
then click on wi fi or wireless then enable WEP security *** WEP code it is your password to connect your wi fi network .Then anybody need that password to connect your wi fi network.

I have a Netgear wgr614 and when it was set up it was set up with no password. Now I want to add a password. How do I do that?

First connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link

type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then go to wi fi security add your WEP code it is your security key to connect wi fi network.
Change it and then save settings and restart router.

You can secure your router with WEP key so everyone need password to connect your wi fi .
For that first connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then access it with following link.

or
http://192.168.0.1
type user name as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then configure your router as WEP.
Then go to wi fi security and set WEP key it is your password to connect your internet .

not sure exactly why you would need the setup software... you should be able to plug it in and access the routers firmware and set it up that way.

Any way to use a Netgear WGR 614 V7 as a range extender

The netgear web site has instructions on how to convert a 614 to an access point. You can use 3 of the 4 ports as a switch and the 4th port is you physical link back to the network. The WAN port is not used.

try this.
1.Access setuppge of the router through http://192.168.1.1
2.User name admin Password is password
3.Once you are int he setup page on the left side click port forwarding
4.You may need to ask linksys what are the ports needed to open for the PAP2 device that you have aqnd get its IP address.

Key 1 should work in most cases. If you have additional keys listed, try them also.
If none work, turn off encryption and connect your new device, then create a new password.
