If you wanted to use your receiver as your controller and source then try to find out the receivber has got a bridge (jumper) between the pre-amp stage and the power amp stage. if your receiver does not have that, then you can just connect your receiver tape record out to one of your DSP inputs. subwoofers, the DSP has got a sub woofer out connector. you can use that (RCA type) to your sub woofers. put in series because DSP has got only one output for sub. or, you can connect your subs directly to the mains speakers, parallel connections. maybe one sub to your left and the other to your right channel.

HOW CAN I CONECT THE BOSE TO MY YAMAHA AMP THE ONLY WAY TO CONECT THE BOSE IS TO BANANA INPUTS ON MY AMP AND THEY ARE FRONT SPEAKERS BUT THE AMP HAS A SUB OUTPUT

To enable the full potential of a SUB for Yamaha DSP A5 ,

you need to have

a separate amplifier for your Bose Acoustimass System.

The SUB out should be connected to an active subwoofer.

I have a yamaha yst sw320 subwoofer connected to a yamaha dsp-a595a amp. I recently disconnected my equipment and when i reconnected it im getting a feedback hum/noise through the sub. I've tried...

Subs don't go to a variety of connections on the amp. Let's stop guessing and stick with the prescribed one.

Register and download the manuals for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Yamaha-YST-SW320-Subwoofers-manual/id/320bh340/t/2/

See page E1 regarding placement and safety.

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Yamaha-DSP-A595-Amps-manual/id/319ag821/t/2/

Page 44 - read about "humming".

If you have hum on the sub, is it there with and/or without the input cable attached?

Disconnect the input(s) and see if it hums in the absence of an audio source. A bad audio cable shield or unwisely-routed audio cables will allow entrance of unwanted signals from external power sources, magnetic fields, even dimmer-controlled track lights. Sometimes, simply reversing the orientation of the ac power plug can eliminate humming.

My yamaha DSP AX1 amp does not work when audio is connected via optical or coaxial any suggestions how to correct this. no sound comes from any speaker except the subwoofer.

Are all the speakers turned off (set to None) in the speaker menu.(except the sub)?

2 channel direct analog stereo may still work, but any surround modes will use the speaker settings and the full DSP digital section.

Check also the input mode isn't incorrect - although if the sub is wired correctly and gives sound this can't be whats wrong.

How to hook up a computer sub to a hometheater amp

If you have the whole Z5500 package you could run the Arcam's optical- or coaxial digital audio output to the corresponding input on the Logitech.

But I'd be careful about letting BOTH the Arcam and the Logictech perform Digital Sound Processing on the sound. DSP's aren't meant to be stacked. My money says the Arcam is better in the DSP department than the Logitech.

If you have just the sub, run the Sub PRE out from the Arcam to the Sub/Center input (adapt it to 3.5 mm) on the Control Center and set the switch to "6 ch direct".

Problem with Yamaha Amplifier 361

volume levels on all channels varies depending on what dsp mode you are using. to be able to determine the level you desire, just chnge the level setting of those channels. either you do it by remote control or the front panel of the amp. try setting the dsp mode on disco and you should hear higher vol levels on all channels. Do not expect as well all channels to produce same vol levels as your effects speakers may not be able handle higher power levels.

Auto Shut Off After 3 Seconds...?

either your DSP output stage already damaged or maybe your speakers. have it both chekced for short. or worst both of them. DSP A1000 can drive as low a 4ohms on main channels but how is the power handling of your speakers? are you sure it has not exceeded the capacity of the speakers? or maybe you have over driven the speakers and they are still ok but your amp gut busted due to over drive. If the DSP amp is busted then it is due for replacement of power transistors and drivers. you can not disable the protection circuit. at least the design. it can be disabled by a tech person with a lot of modifications but i wont go for that or it can cause more damage to your equipments. i am from yamaha before and i have made conversions of protection circuits but it is too risky.
