Hi Christian, if your scanner was manufactured before February 2010 it may not be able to communicate directly with 123Scan2 so you wont be able to upgrade firmware with the program, but you will still be able to use it to create configuration sheets. These are the only two uses for 123Scan2.
To create a configuration sheet without "finding" the scanner click Create New Configuration then choose My scanner is NOT connected. Select the LS2208 and click on the blue firmware button to get into the configuration. When you have completed your configuration click the Print bar codes selection at the top of the window and when the file comes up be sure to click on the Bar code formatting menu and change the Bar code type to 1D One setting per barcode if it is not already there. Older scanners will not work with concatenated 1D barcodes where 123Scan2 puts more than one setting into a barcode.
Mine is manufactured in August 2010, and it still can't detect my scanner. (USB interface) Please help.
Have you updated the plug-ins for the 123Scan2? It is possible the device is not being seen because the application can not find a valid plug-in. This is done by clicking on Help then Check for Updates. It may also be the information 123Scan2 needs to see to communicate with your device over USB is corrupted. It maybe a good idea to call Motorola Solutions at 800-663-5350.
please help, i have an LS2208 scanners, year made i cabt see as they have been used, want to up grade them, but 123scan does not pick it up and i dont know what firmware or sofatware is loaded on them to upgrade, is there anyway i can upgrade them ? please help
Hi Ivan, you can try scanning the barcode to make the scanner communicate with 123Scan2. If this does not work the scanners may need to be sent in for service. 123Scan2 is the only way for users to update their scanners.
