Amana free o frost refrigerator with icemaker (model TS118A3W} stopped making ice. When I manually poured in water it made ice. Is the problem in the water line? I removed the icemaker, turned the water supply line back on and got no water. HELP!

This website has the diagrams for the ice maker along with the parts listed. The bar is listed as #16 and $20 to replace while the icemaker is#17 and $117

There should be a stop control near the icemaker where it collects ice in the tray. It should be an L-shaped lever. move it to the stop position.

Check water valve at back Its where the water line attaches to it.
Check water pressure
Pour a cup of water in the ice maker, if it ejects ice later then that
valve is probably defective
If it doesnt then the icemaker is defective
Also check temp of freezer should be below 10 degrees

Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects theb you need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking same part needs replaced.The water valve at the bottom rear of fridge.

Depends. Put your fingers into the icemaker. Feel for ice or water. If none, check the fill tube to ensure it is not iced up. This tube feeds the icemaker with water. If it is iced up, thaw it out. If no ice or water in icemaker then pour a cup of water into the icemaker, wait the nite to see if it drops the ice. If it does the problem is the valve behind the frig.

The laser , is supposed to blink . This laser , tells the icemaker to stop making ice , when the bin is full . Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the icemaker . If it doesn't dump the cubes into the bin , the icemaker is bad . Or , if there is ice in the bin , which hasn't dumped , the icemaker is bad . If the icemaker dumps the ice ( from water pour ) , then look above the fill cup , and see if the black fill tube is frozen . If so , then replace the water valve and turn the freezer temp down slightly . It will take several days for this fill line inside freezer to thaw . If icemaker dumps , and black tube NOT frozen , replace the water valve . The valve , is where the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

Pour about 1/2 cup of water into ice maker . If it dumps , replace the water valve . If doesn't dump , replace the ice maker . Also make sure the coils are clean of dust , lint , etc...
