I have a web camara sun tech 2.0 and I don`t have software or a cd to install the camara in computer. I use windows XP professional and I can´t to use de web camara . I understand. Microsoft has cracked down on tracking software that are installed in computers by requiring a validationg of your install operating software.

Since the XP operating system was installed on the computer when you purchased the system. Who ever sold you the computer must provide the CD key for your XP software. This CD key is five groups of numbers and letters you must enter to send to Microsoft to validtae your XP software.

Hope this information will give you what you need to validate your XP software.

Get the product key from the back of your CD case, or on the back of your computer.

You can download from any digital camara.Load the CD that came with the camara or obtain one if you can. You need the interface cable that is purchased seperately. You do not specify the camara spec so you will need to Google the" model and pc interface cable". If you have the cable then the next step is the camara driver which should be on your cd that came with the camara. Plug in the cable to the camara and to the USB port on the PC (make certain the camara is set to the Play position or PC). Windows will ask for the driver location. Insert the cd and continue. If windows does not see the driver you will need to locate it manualy from the cd or on line and download it to your desktop from the manufacturers web site. All camara companies have a support website for the drivers. Once the drivers are loaded then you need to switch the camara to the Play position so it can be seen by the computer. Go to the control panel in windows and select system then hardware then devices. If all went well you should see the camara listed as a device. My Canon PIXMA MP500, purchased in mid-2006, came with the (then) ScanSoft OmniPage SE2 software on a CD. The PC had WinXP Installed. I had no use for the ScanSoft it so I made no effort to install it.
Fast Forward:
Two PC crashes later, July 2009. Using Win Vista Home Premium
LOST, important WinWord document file, only a hard copy available.
I tried to recover, scanning the "Xerox" copy. The SE Version of OmniPage was very complicated but I succeeded in producing a replacement *.doc file.

It appears that newer editions of WinVista contain the right printer drivers for this Canon Model.

u dont have to get the genuine product key unless you want to register your copy of Windows XP with Microsoft. You can install the software with your unregistered version of Windows XP.

the black screen at windows startup implies that u have a probleme with ur software package(service pack 2)

so get a fresh copy of the softwares u have mentioned
then 1st install windows serice pack 2 from the bootable disk
after that when windows starts install ms office professional.

after downloading xp sp2 ,burn it on disc using nero and then install from cd

i think you need installed again your cam and need the cd its my suggest based on my experience
