My tv picture and sound turn on and then after a while the screen goes black. If I turn the tv off and then on, the picture comes back but the picture only stays about 5 to 10 minutes then the screen goes black.

also check the power cord wire coming from the back of the tv is loose from the tv side or perfect.

This unit should still be under warranty and should be taken in for warranty service. Any attempt to access the interior will void the warranty. It is important that a complete description of the problem like you entered here be taken along when you bring the set in for service. This will insure that the servicer be able to reproduce the problem and resolve it.

From your description (and as a servicer), I would be looking for a component that is heat sensitive. These types of problems are fairly easy to locate and resolve.

Please take this in for warranty service and update this when you find out the details.

These units have a know issue with the power supply board failing in just the way you are experiencing. The problem is parts called capacitors start to die and when they do the power supply does not stabilize correctly. The power board keeps trying to start but failing until the voltages do stabilize. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself.
