When PC manufacturers no longer support a machine with drivers etc, you're then pretty much limited to rescources like Driver Guide for drivers that are no longer available. Get a free memborship with Driver Guide at least to see if these drivers are available through them. You will have to go through some steps (hoops) to get what you need if they have them, but it's worth the effort if they do have them and you can't get them elsewhere and they won't cost anything but some time.

My acer laptop was formated, since I got it back I cant play any dvd nor cd... I do have media player but message appear stating that the following files cant be played..

Yes, you have missed the codec files.

Download "Windows essentials Codec pack", below is the link

http://download.softpedia.ro/dl/7dd4bba62e0c22582981d1a9546796dc/4b45cc15/100071211/software/MULTIMEDIA/VIDEO/DIVX/WECPSetup.exe

Install this, you will be able to play almost all files in your windows media player.

I recommend you use VLC player, it can play any file formats both Audio or Video without any Codec and moreover it's completely open source. Below is the VLC player download link

That's it
