Hayward Sp2807x10 Max-Flo 1 Hp Swimming Pool Pump Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jan 12, 2011

Initially, I noticed water on the concrete slab which holds my Hayward SP 2807X10 pool pump and filter cartridge. I replaced all the PVC connections to ensure no leaks. Now I can see that the water is coming from under the pump. I am stuck here. What do you think the issue could be?

In general the process is the same for any brand...Disassemble the motor from the pump, lock the motor shaft at the end opposite the pump, spin off the impeller (which may be covered by what is called a diffuser), replace both halves of the seal (one is pressed into the pump housing and the other rides against or on the back of the impeller) and assemble in reverse order. If you need more specific directions, please add a comment with your question(s) or contact me using our web site at www.arrowpools.net.

Hit post a little to soon, sorry. Your pump seal is leaking and needs to be replaced...a new one should be available from any local pool store or pump repair shop in your area. The part is under $10.

You may experience a little pressure loss, but if the catridge fliter housing has a 1 1/2 input you should be fine.

Can the center pipe be replaced with regular pvc pipe on a hayward sand filter

if the centre pipe can be matched to a pvc pipe size then the next problem to consider is the hole size or slots to allow the water in or out of the tube
filtration works by passing water through a medium ( sand ) and out back to the pool
You may get around the problem by grinding slots or drilling holes in the pvc pipe and securely wrapping fly screen mesh around the outside of the pipe to retain the sand

My Hayward superpump has a crack in the pump filter basket housing. I cannot afford to replace my pump at this time. Is there a patch or epoxy that will seal the crack? Hopeful!!

I would recommend a product called "Pool Putty". We use it all the time for quick repairs at my pool company. It is a 2-part epoxy that hardens like concrete. It might get you through the rest of the season.

Yesterday, I noticed that the Hayward pool sweep wasn't moving, nor was there any water flowing from the outlets in the pool. I cleaned both baskets - nothing. I installed 4 brand new cartridge filters -...

A pump motor running without any flow of water is one of two things. The impeller inside the pump that is connected to the motor is broken or clogged. Open up the pump and inspect the impeller for debris or seperation and clean or replace as needed.

Hayward Self-Priming Pump with AO Smith 1 HP 56J frame motor. Stopped moving inground pool water. Added water to pump basket (low). Turned on pump, return jets sent "bubbles" into pool, stopped, then...

the pump must not have any air leaks in the suction side of it,, or it will just **** air and not water,,, water is very heavy you see, however i think its the impeller in the pump thats the problem,,,you should try to put water in the out let of the pump so you fill the pump with water first if its dryed out it may just wear out the impeller before it starts to **** water up, if this still dont work turn off the stop **** and strip out the pump to look at the impeller any wear on it and it will need a new one fitted
i hope this has help you, good luck

Have a hayward c-750 star clear filter. Why would sand be coming through one of the jets when we initially turn it on.

Hole in the filter cartridge or if it only happens after you clean the cartridge could just be heavy dirt falling into the pipeing when you pull the cartridge for cleaning. There is a drain plug on your filter base that you can pull to clean out the bottom of the tank and avoide this.
